I was the only one to stand up and say that, while most of it is correct, the part about the Native Americans was wrong. The documentary we watched showed a woodcut of the pilgrims being welcomed by the indians, then cut to an engraving of a pilgrim smashing an indian's head in with the butt of his matchlock rifle. Out of all the different cultures that were represented, the indians were the only ones that we were at war with, and had started those wars with us. I agree if you want to show the poverty that they live in today, because the sons should never pay for the sins of their fathers, but passing them off as peaceniks that we slaughtered is rubbish. Surprisingly, from a bunch of lib teachers, no one contested my un-PC correction. Or, are they now writing and telling friends what the racist in their class said, which would be the classically lib thing to do?
