I once had an interesting conversation about ghost stories with Andrew Klavan at a Liberty Film Fest/Horowitz Freedom Center event (when Appuzo & company were on speaking terms). Does that mean I can count him as a close friend?

I don't know if I'd be proud, Lars. That aquifer had rain water leached into it from when Genghis Kahn took a leak in the desert and it evaporated and eventually came back to earth. Better brush your teeth.

Talking to libs and conservatives alike, a look of panic sets in at the notion that some idiot has his way in assassinating Obama and we're somehow guided by Super Joe's whit and wisdom. Not that I wish ill will on the President, but I wouldn't break a sweat. In my experience, far too little separates those who are smart but not smart enough to know their own limitations and those who are dumb and at least know it - given Biden is smart enough to know how stupid he is. That may take a gigantic leap of faith.

I've been very proud of my friendship with Sir Issac Newton, and by friendship I mean we once lived on the same planet.

I'm so proud to be able to call James Lileks a close personal friend. And by friend, I mean acquaintance. And by acquaintance, I mean someone with mutual acquaintances. And by someone with mutual acquaintances, I mean we drink water from the same aquifer.
