Rufus, you should probably hold off on that “Super Genius” tag. Whenever Wile E. Coyote cut loose with that one he would get hit by an anvil, run over by a truck or some other horrific type fate.

Also you might watch out for anything marked or made by “Acme”.

Fun ex-Sox fact (which Rufus probably knows, but perhaps not a lot of others): the baseball technical adviser for “The Natural” was Ken “the Bandit” Berry, who climbed the fences to rob the opposition of home runs for many years at Comiskey.

I agree, but I just don’t see our politicians having the gutts, nor the brains. There are economic cycles, upticks and downticks. We started manipulating lending rates to try to lessen the valleys, that has apparently led to stimulus checks and bail-outs in an attempt to totally eliminate the valleys. Milton Friedman and John Maynard Keynes are spinning in their graves!

I also spent several misbegotten teen years at A LOT of the games at the old Comiskey in the 70’s in THE LEFT FIELD BLEACHERS! Very, very weird. Richie Zisk, Eric Solderholm, Larry Walker, Jorge Orta, Ralph Garr, Wilbur Wood and the inimitable Nancy Faust on the organ! And since I was in my early teens and it was Comiskey, I drank more than my fair share of frosty cold Falstaff’s in those very bleachers.

Didn’t see the pic Ruf. Gawd, if BHO shows up to the opener (attending which is a trzupr and daughter tradition) I am going to need so many extra beers.

Might you have been attending games at old Comiskey in the 70’s? Spent a great deal of my misbegotten teen years at the park myself. LEFT field bleachers, thank you very much. Because, as everyone knows, “RIGHT FIELD SUCKS!”

Circuit City’s been having troubles in my neck of the woods for a while now. Didn’t know about Best Buy, but it doesn’t surprise me (and they kinda had it coming.)

Also, I have a friend who works in the Auto industry. Apparently, GM has about 30 days or so before they are completely out of money.

I too am a White Sox fan. Did you see the news item showing BHO dropping his kids off at their Chicago school after the election? Wearing a Sox cap, he was. I think we have our first White Sox supportin’ President in the White House!
