You Can Get More Done With a Kind Word and a Gun, Than You Can With Just a Kind Word

Obama was in AZ yesterday selling his health care “plan” (the one he hasn’t read and didn’t really even help put together) and a man showed up to protest with his AR-15 slung over his shoulder, a handgun on his hip, and ammo in his back pocket — all legal in Arizona (God bless Arizona — an “open-carry” state). Was he a whacko? Nah… just exercising his God-given and Arizona protected rights as a citizen. And the the dude’s black too so the whacko angle has been downplayed (man Black people have it so good) because a white guy would be a “militia” man who probably “hates” Obama because he’s Black (sorta) — probably a “Christian” militia to (jack) boot.

On the healthcare side of the debate I liked this quote from the above-linked story:

Meanwhile, dozens of Obama supporters chanted the president’s name and banged on a giant drum on one street corner.

“It’s time for reform, my deductible and my co-pays have gone up over 4% and my paycheck has gone down,” said Dwayne Stone, President Obama health plan supporter.

“For example, I just had two prescriptions filled and it cost me $1,740,” said David Caplow, a cancer patient, “I have to go back in another three weeks and get that refilled.”

Don’t you fret Mr. Caplow… if Obama gets his way you won’t ever have another cancer drug co-pay or refill — EVER.

And Mr. Stone… what’re you gonna do when your taxes go up 15%? 4% is a little better than 15% and that 4% increase is most likely pre-tax or tax deductible.

And then this:

And there was no shortage of issues they hoped Obama would address.

“Health issues, retirement benefits for our veterans, hospital care, nursing home care, so the big issue is our veterans,” said Harley Andrews, who fought in Korea. “Other than that, it’s our security problems that we have in America.”

Veteran Johnny Boyington helps other vets seek benefits and medical attention, but said they aren’t getting the care they need.

“It breaks your heart because you know that they’ve served,” said Boyington. “They’ve been through battles and all that, and they’re not getting what they deserve. There’s a lot to be done for the veterans on the healthcare issues.”

As for civilians, Kijanowski said there is a simple way to honor those who have fought in wars for their country.

“I think the best way to honor our vets is, when you see an American flag walk by, standup and put your hand on your heart,” he said. “I think most people forget about that. If you honor our flag, I think you’re honoring us.”

I agree that we need to care for our veterans — especially the career folk and those wounded in the line of duty. Hell, anyone wounded should get government paid care at Cedars-Sinai or whatever the finest hospitals are. How can the Douche-bag in Chief not see that the very reason the VA Hospitals are in disarray is the very same reason we should not have government medicine for “everybody”? I suspect he doesn’t see it and wouldn’t care even if he did. And I would also be wary of the word “co-op” which seems to be popping up now. It’s one letter away from “Co-opt” — as in gov’t co-opting private health care.

Good grief, even “hisoner” the chief doesn’t do this!

  • BTW, we have open carry in NV, too. People look at you like you’re strange if you do carry, but they get over it when they realize you’re not going to hurt them. You just have to love the Constitution, don’t you? That’s all we’re fighting for is that and the idiot children on the left don’t realize it, nor care.

An interesting protest, but let’s keep it perspective. If you are old enough to remember the aftermath of the Kennedy assassination by a left extremist, and the quantum leap towards big government that resulted then you can imagine what would happen should BHO get hit. The potential for major “change” from such an act makes me wonder if the President is more at danger from true believers on his side of the spectrum than from the right. Like the JFK hit, it won’t matter who kills the guy, the right will take the heat. As Ollie Stone.

No One I wish I shared your fear but ask a secret service agent…its not the guy they know is carrying, its the guy they don’t know. And someone with nefarious issues won’t be walking around with an AK strapped to his back, a Kimber on his hip and a load of ammo in various pockets where the planet can see it. In fact its not even the kooky lone gunmen they fear the most, its the professionals. And yes tehre are guys and gals out tehre who are professional killers. Those are the ones to really worry about and I don’t believe there is a government or conglomerate in sight that would lay a hand on BHO’S head. He is their dream US President. So stop getting worried. And No One, remember the black man who was beaten by a Union Thug and called the N-Word at the Carnahan event in Missouri? It is the left committing tehse violent acts. God fearing gun owners don’t behave like utter loathsome barbarians. The left owns that corner of the world, as you pointed out with your Lee Harvey Oswald example.

VA is an F’in disaster and is the only functioning example of fully run government healthcare. I wouldn’t send a prisoner there. All vetereans who have served active duty in combat need to be given Tricare (the top dog of military insurance) so they don’t have to go to the VA.

Here’s what pisses me off. There’s video of this guy taken earlier in the day that shows him milling around on the conservative side, and then one from apparently later on that has him standing on the pro-Obama side chanting slogans with the rest of them. You could make a case that he was trying to stick around with us just long enough to get noticed by CNN.

Don’t forget the Bureau of Indian Affairs has a “health care” arm running on the reservations. And like the VA, they are not mentioned because they are nothing to be proud of.
