On this day in 2008 some ones and zeros were uploaded to a vacant outpost on the world wide web and thus, rather inauspiciously, www.threedonia.com was born! As with most offspring, threedonia has developed quite differently than Floyd, Chuck and I foresaw, gazing through the celebratory cigar smoke on that storied day.
We began as a spin-off from John Nolte’s Dirty Harry’s Place, primarily devoted to politics, media and the law. Then Dirty Harry’s Place went away and all heck broke loose. In the ensuing months JohnFN, Eric, Rich, Wankette, Outlaw13 and -Mike! joined the staff as a growing cast of characters joined the ranks of our followers.
Thanks to you all for making our inaugural year so much fun! Head on out to your favorite watering hole this evening and have a drink on Eric. And, if you can do us a favor, drop a line in the comments on how we can make the site better. What would you like to see more of? Less of? The same of? If you don’t feel like registering do it anonymously. We do like to hear from you. We’ve got immense egos that require nearly continual stroking.
Hail, Hail Threedonia!

Hooray for Captain Spaulding, the African explorer!
Threedonia forever
Happy anniversary Floyd. Just wanted to say thanks for all the man boobs.
For everyone else, a happy anniversary recommendation.
Happy Anniversary, guys, and many more!
Happy Anniversary!
I don’t have much to say about improvements at the moment, I’ll just whine later when something comes to mind, but I have a couple of compliments for you guys.
I love the way yall engage your commenters. Yall do it with respect, intelligence, and grace. Very rare to see that on the web. It also makes me feel good to play with the big kids, even when I know I don’t know what I’m talking about but yall entertain my thoughts anyway.
I love the variety. That’s one of the things that drags me back here. It’s not just one person yammering on and on, it’s a cast of thousands.
I love that most of the time yall at least try for a balanced viewpoint and are willing to see an opposing point.
I love the silliness.
I love the writing, even when I get a confused puppy dog look. It makes me feel smarter just having read it.
Alright, I’m done being nice.
Awww, shucks…
Happy 1st, 3donians!
And thanks for making us ‘bots feel welcome.
I have a suggestion. Promote my book more.
And happy birthday!
Now get back to work.
Buy Lars’ new book. And all his old ones. Then buy Porvaznik’s baseball movie on DVD.
Well done. You may take a short coffee break.
Happy 1 year anniversary!
Has it been a year, already?? I didn’t know the age of the site until today, and thought it had been around much longer. I think I found “Threedonia” through a link from Blackfive.net, many months ago, and lurked for quite a while before offering my first comments. A celebration is in order! A brut of the best champagne, a good band for the music of your choice, and bring on the dancing . . .uh . . .folks.
One more thing: where/how do I register?
Tom
Tom
Oh… you’re registered Magnus… We’re watching you right now.
Through Blackfive??? that’s cool.
. . .but, I repeat myself.
+JMJ+
Happy Anniversary! =D
Happy anniversary!!! It’s been a great run thus far.
Quick question-what in the world is the lady in the lower right of the pic doing bent over at that angle? Just curious.
Only one suggestion…correct that to two: Please get us an “edit” button for our comments. Idiots like me need one. And two: Oh, nevermind. I forget, and that’s the reason I need an “idiot…scratch that “edit” button.
Happy annie. This site is still my first stop o’ the morning, before I eat.
Thanks, Mr. Sid, but that’s just not good enough. We want you here before you take that first breath.
By the way, if you’re just checking in now, what time zone do you live in? Midway Island/Samoa?
Count me among those who thought threedonia had been around since days of yore. I can’t even recall just how I happened to find threedonia – perhaps via The Macho Response blog? I’m not clever enough to be worthy of registering what with all the witty repartee and all.
The Marx Bros. header had me at first glance but the sexual tension between Rufus and Floyd keeps me coming back.
Thanks for the laughs, the wisdom and all the voodoo that you do so well.
I know what you mean. We’ve got kind-of a “Cheers” vibe going. Floyd’s Diane, by the way.
If Floyd is Diane who is Carla?
Can I be Carla, she had a ton of kids and a bad temper. What’s not to love??
I’m glad you pointed out the eerie similarities, Tracy.
Yes, and Porvaznik is Norm. Floyd is Cliff.
Happy Anniversary, dudes and dudettes!
This is indeed a great site. I discovered it reading a comment thread at Dirty Harry’s. I saw the Floyd R. Turbo name and I had to see more!
Full agreement on the civility even when people don’t always agree. Very appealing. Of course, most of us agree on most of what is said here. Still. After seven years of blogging – today, in fact – I’ve grown weary of the Internet and all its “charms”. Sites like this one, and a few others, keep my hopes alive.
I’m a daily reader now. Almost. OK, 5 out of 7 then!
Jeff,
Congrats on your blog and Happy 7th Anniversary! I don’t think Liz Taylor or Mickey Rooney ever got to celebrate a 7th Anniversary.
“I’m a daily reader now. Almost. OK, 5 out of 7 then!” You don’t have to apologize. I skip a lot of Mike’s posts too.
Happy Anniversary peeps!
Thanks to Floyd,Rufus,Mike,John,Eric,David Marcoe,Father Ron,Stephanie,Wanks…even Fritz!You are good friends
I assume you didn’t open the special link I left for Floyd on this thread? If you did, you should probably be cursing me and my descendants to the seventh generation.
I’m not a fwiend?
I know better David.
Still noodling that Declaration book btw…. There’s a law school text book by John Eastman, Douglas Kmiec (before his meltdown) and 2 other authors. It’s put out by LexisNexis pub. The first chapter is on natural law and the relation of it to the Declaration and how the Declaration ties to the Constitution. Lots of good citations if I recall…
Happy Birthday, boys. You guys are always one of my first stops everyday. Keep up all your good work.
Thanks Malagate!
“…boys”?
Ahem.
I will always be part Threedonian.
Is it Threedon-ee-an or Threedon-yan?
Neither, “Threedonite.”
