It’s all good. I think the Brits call that “Toad in the Hole.”
I remember my younger brother asking mom to make him a “toad in the hole”. She prepared a lot of them for him. Why is it that I can remember his request; but, he can’t?
Had a version of this the other night. Cut a hole not quite through a bun, butter it, add egg, bake. Then melt a slice of cheese on top. Mmmmm. From a very old BH&G Junior Cookbook.
Ohh, Stacie. Cheese is a nice touch. Everything is better with cheese.
When I was courting Mrs. Firefly it was a long distance romance. I would sleep in her folks’ basement when in town and her father would make this for me for breakfast. They are very good.
My mom used to call the birds nests. Yum.
And thank you Stacie for fueling another cheese fantasy.
