In the best news I’ve heard all week, John Stossel announced he is leaving ABC news for FOX.
It’s time for a change.
In one month, I leave ABC News.
In October, I will join the folks at Fox.
I plan to do a one hour prime time show every week on FBN, the Fox Business Channel, and contribute to various existing programs on Fox News Channel.
I’m grateful to ABC News for allowing me to do stories that challenged conventional wisdom, and occasionally enraged many of its viewers. But it’s said that everyone should change jobs every 7 years. I’ve been at ABC for 28 years …
In my new job, I want to dig into the meaning of the words “liberty” and “limited government”. ABC enabled me to do some of that, but Fox offers me more airtime and a new challenge.
I’m still considering what I will do with my own show, one hour each week. Economics certainly. Exercises in understanding libertarianism. My “take” on the issues of the day. Kind of like this blog. In fact, maybe we’ll call it, Stossel’s Take?
I ask you for your ideas. A studio audience? Should I wander around Congress?

I think the writing was on the wall when ABC repeatedly pushed back Stossel’s health care piece on 20/20 in favor of yet more, and more, Michael Jackson coverage.
Although I don’t get cable, at least most Americans will get Stossel’s take.
That’s a hopeful thought.
Good! Now I don’t have to wade through the rest of 20/20 to get to the good stuff. Mike — come over to the dark side. Get At&T U-verse… not cable.
My wife was so excited she texted me at lunch. Love that woman and love Stossel finally making the switch!!!
Stossel knows his audience will increase tenfold. First Brit, then Chris. now John. Rupert, take a fifty out of petty cash and get yourself a beer.

I’ve been recording 20/20 just so that I am sure to never miss one of his reports. Otherwise, I just delete it. I’m looking forward to his new venture!
I couldn’t believe that ABC would allow Stossel to be other than a spineless Mugwump. Yet, week after week, the guy shows guts. Next, he was *appearing* on FNC.
It’s about time someone put the capital L back in Libertarianism.
An hour a week on Economics?!! The only more exciting news for me would be if Patti Ann Brown were going to co-host the show.
