From ABC comes this STORY of an outpost being over-run and a fight to the death.
Flying into the besieged Afghan base during a nighttime firefight this weekend was a harrowing mix of overwhelming noise, stomach dropping maneuvers and shadows hurrying through the gloom.
When the chopper lifted off moments later with three wounded soldiers, it left behind others who were wounded but refused to be MEDEVACED out of the combat zone so they could return to fight with their buddies…

I have said it before in comments to other posts, if we are going to quit this war, stop it now…let the withdrawals begin.
If we intend to win… Support these Soldiers. Honor them, fight with the fire that they’ve shown, for if we don’t this country won’t be worth a piece of dirt from under the fingernail of one of these heroes.

From the story: “Soldiers told the MEDEVAC crew that troops were donating blood during the battle, so it could be transfused into wounded comrades.”
Jesus.
I believe in decorum – a civil exchange – when I debate this or that with some lib. A minor league version of Mark Steyn’s “Happy Warrior” if you will. After reading that, I don’t know that I’m going to have much decorum left next time I argue with someone about Iraq and Afghanistan.
“If we intend to win… Support these Soldiers.”
Amen.
I have no decorum. STFU and let us do this. That goes for that idiot savant Biden. McChrystal wanted 140,000 soldiers for Afghanistan. They told him to par it down to 40K. Can we fire these buttholes that were hired last November? They are getting our guys killed.
Wow.
What happened to the “good war?” You know, the one Iraq was a distraction from.
Surge or get out. One of the other, Commander. It’s time to stop pretending you know what you’re doing.
Yeah,Outlaw,I wanted to recognize a guy from here in Memphis who was killed over there last Friday. His name was Brandon Owens,an Army MP,and he was 21.
Really, I’m beginning to feel this way too. If we aren’t willing to use all the resources necessary to accomplish our goals, let’s just leave. At least then the “paper tiger” would be an honest one, instead of the US continually backing out of commitments it makes for political expediency.
