A very cool show on the History channel on Mondays: Clash of the Gods. Its about myths and the one about Perseus and Medusa was pretty damned cool. They also did Beowolf. Excellent stuff.
Did you have to do something weird afterwards, too?
My teacher wanted us to dress as characters from the movie and reenact scenes. A lot of my classmates played Athena because they had older sisters who had made owl crafts for Art class. Instant “Boo-boo”!
(Now that I think about it, yeah, I went to a weird school.)
Watch for Lit class? Nope, but did see it opening weekend. Oh, to be young and naive and actually think it was good. Shoulda stayed at home and kept watching the Jason and the Argonauts Harryhausen stuff for free on Cleveland’s channel 43, blown my lawn-mowing (or snow-shoveling) money on comic books or baseball/football cards.
Still, for sentimental hygiene, did volunteer to work on scheduling the international subtitles for the coming BD release set to milk next year’s update. Sigh…
My college studies did not, unfortunately, include art appreciation. But I knows what I likes and I likes Carvaggio. I particularly like his painting of St. Jerome.
As for Columbus Day: sure, I’ll celebrate. I’m living in a highly German-ethnic area of Ohio so alas, no Italian parades here. I’m not sure what I should to do celebrate but I’ll figure out something since it would be so non-politically correct and all. Maybe a re-enactment of Bugs Bunny’s cartoon. “The world, she’s a flat!” “No, she’s a round!”
I have Metamorphosis by Philip Glass playing right now…
Anyone see this – http://hotair.com/archives/2009/10/10/how-this-ex-liberal-found-fortitude-and-her-way-home/
An excellent read about another convert.

One of those shows I have been itchin’ to watch, but have not yet. I just found an episode on HistoryChannel.com about Hercules.
This is one guy who will be on the look out for both the DVD and some marathon of the show.
I’ve seen that show. it is interesting.
did you know they’re remaking Clash of the Titans?
I wonder if they’ll keep with the pillaging of mythology the original reveled in.
+JMJ+
Oh, my! Maybe they’ll try to make it more like 300.
Did anyone else have to watch Clash of the Titans for Literature class whenever the mythology unit came up?
“Did anyone else have to watch CLASH OF THE TITANS for Literature class whenever the mythology unit came up?”

Nothing THAT wierd . . .

Hey, Columbus day is coming! Anyone going to celebrate the accidental, second discovery of America, by Europeans.
No longer get it off for work, so took the day off, yeah. I married an Italian, I think I had to do so.

Or, perhaps this – in honor of the earlier discovery of N. America – http://revver.com/video/109858/bugs-bunny-whats-opera-doc/
I’ll celebrate. Got to. Expansion of civilization, hell yeah.
You racist.
MWAHAHAHAHAHA!
SMOG!!!
Anyone listened to “Untitled 23″ by The Church yet? I admit I’m having a hard time adjusting to it…
I am watching ZULU. Great movie.
