Not that I’m encouraging anything – but a prediction. Conservatives are going to make a run to the phone and go after the NFL and NBC for employing Keith Olbermann. Granted, Olbermann defended Limbaugh’s right to buy a stake in a team, but Olbermann is just as divisive as Limbaugh (just divisive to the right people, I guess) and has a long history of outlandishness. Rush got the boot from his ESPN gig, now he can’t buy a team – the right will want an eye for an eye.
Granted, I think if Limbaugh was retired from radio, none of this would be a big deal and he would have sailed through the ownership vote. The fact he’s a public figure and on the air three hours a day, giving opinions and all that, that is verboten in the NFL guide to blase nonchalance and zero personality.
Maybe it won’t be Olbermann, but some places are already going after the league for promoting Fergie of the Black-Eyed Peas and her rather suggestive song lyrics. The league won’t be able to host an entertainer or invite any public figure without an explosion from the right. The NFL’s quest to keep as non-controversial as possible has done the opposite of what was intended.

Encourage it, JFN, encourage it. Me, I like mud.
And thanks for the spellchucking.

I think you underestimate the vindictiveness of the Left. Not having the show would remove his primary weapon for fighting back, which is what our masters-to-be vervently desire.
I agree. He will have no peace in retirement either.
I think he should sue. Period. None of teh allegations are true and bringing this whole thing into court and having the power of discovery would offer the entire planet a real good look at the evil done not just to Rush but to the Country.
He is going after them with lawyers who probably cut their rates for him! I’d be down with getting rid of KO — I don’t watch NBC games at all, forget watching between his appearances.
I am glad. Enough of this crap. Time to have these bastards stand in front of SCOTUS and explain their behavior. I cannot imagine Thomas or Scalia being down with this crap.
