As I explained on my radio show, this spectacle is bigger than I am on several levels. There is a contempt in the news business, including the sportswriter community, for conservatives that reflects the blind hatred espoused by Messrs. Sharpton and Jackson. “Racism” is too often their sledgehammer. And it is being used to try to keep citizens who don’t share the left’s agenda from participating in the full array of opportunities this nation otherwise affords each of us. It was on display many years ago in an effort to smear Clarence Thomas with racist stereotypes and keep him off the Supreme Court. More recently, it was employed against patriotic citizens who attended town-hall meetings and tea-party protests.
These intimidation tactics are working and spreading, and they are a cancer on our society.
He could have have elaborated endlessly – Sarah Palin, Joe the Plumber, Robert Bork, Newt Gingrich, John McCain shortly after he received the nomination … Conservatives, the middle class and those outside the Northeast corridor are being segregated from the public interest. Race is the weapon of choice, but it’s starting to lose its effect. Rush may have lost his bid, but he exposed the NFL, whose esteem in the eyes of many died much during the past week.
Gotta ask ya’ll what would Lombardi have thought of this crap? Considering Vince was starting to lose his keeness for the Democrat party before he died and saw the peaceniks and hippys as losers and dangerous for the country…what would he have thought.
Oh btw, did anyone see what happened to Juan Williams this week when discussing this travesty? The guy O’Reilly had on his show discussing this with him and Williams called Williams an Uncle Tom and told him to go back to the porch. Williams looked like he was going to go through the screen. Last night, Juan hosted O’Reilly and had the most interesting panel: A former NFL Linebacker, and black preacher, and Tammy Bruce, all defending Rush. THe preacher was a friend of Rush’s. This is where the left gets creamed….when they start attacking their own like they did Williams they leave themselves open to the truth of what they really are. Wonder what the left thinks: How can a black liberal, a black conservative and a lesbian be defending Rush Limbaugh? Hmmmmmmmmmm

I saw the video on Rush’s website of that whole “porch” comment…or rather, I read the transcript, because I couldn’t bear to watch it. It’s like I said in yesterday’s open thread, about Juan (who is one of my favorite libs) (because he’s got a sense of humor!) — sometimes he must just smack himself on the forehead and say, Why are these people in my club??

I can’t remember what the man’s name was Wanks, but I just found it so interesting that FOX and people who watch FOX are called facists for being intolerant yet….look at who O’Reilly had hosting for him and look who Juan had as his guests. Gotta say this Wanks, one viewing of that porch comment was enough for me. Juan wouldn’t have to list a finger because I would have shoved my stiletto up that evil little bastards butt for saying what he said. Talk about intolerant. And whats more he has no idea of just what kind of a jerk he looks like right now.
I too was disgusted by that insult against Juan Williams. Truly another low moment among many in this campaign of smears against Rush.
Ponder this: if a man who is so well-known like Rush can be the victim of outright slander, what chance would any regular people like us have? Rush is heard daily by millions and those of us who listen to Rush know full well he is not a racist. What chance would I stand if I were to be the victim of lies? How would I be able to refute the racism label? Rush once again proves he is a class act – unlike the rest of those who showed their true character.
Yes, I’m a football fan…if one can call Cleveland Browns ‘real’ football right now! I don’t spend a lot of money in my fannish pursuits but I will not be spending any money the rest of the season on NFL merchandise. But it’s not hard to do during another bad season for the Browns!
What happened to Juan Williams is just collateral damage in the War Against Fascist Amerika. That’ll teach him to collaborate with the enemy!
Say what you want about Juan Williams, he’s principled and intellectually honest. When he attempted to keep things about the facts, he got slandered by someone not fit to hold his jock. It’s evidence that if you let them do it to Rush, they’ll eventually come after you – even, and especially, if you’re on the left. That’s how the racialist industry operates.
If Wilbon, Sanchez, etc. slandered anyone else, they would be on TV giving mea culpas, instead they weakly attempt to keep their smug righteous and moral indignation by not apologizing. Such is life in “post-racial” America.
I was watching Joy Behar’s new show the other night because Ann Coulter was a guest. (Ann is a ratings draw for talk shows.) Ann presented facts to support whatever case she was making and they didn’t matter to Joy. And therein is the problem with the left: Facts don’t matter; they make up whatever they want to believe and that’s what matters.
