I have never been more proud of myself for never smoking a cigarette

I’m drafting my “liveblog” post of Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventures right now. During the first five clips, I reacted with some dissonance every time they called George Carlin “Rufus”–because it’s Groucho Marx who is “Rufus,” right?
That looks creepily like those flying pancakes that attacked people in Star Trek.

Oh, by the way . . . Those shades of mint green and lavender could have been taken from the color palette my aunt used when she redecorated her bedroom.
I wonder how she will react when I start calling it the “Lung Cancer Cell scheme”–because, you know, I’m an adorable niece that way.
too funny!
A clinic across the street from where I work offered the Swine flu vaccine today. There were people sleeping on the steps of the clinic last night to be first in line this morning.
“I caught pneumonia waiting to get a swine flu shot” I smell an editorial cartoon!
That picture looks like a lettuce wrap gone horribly wrong.
There is a new ACORN video from O’Keefe and Giles:

Just ordered my Birthday Ball gown. It is very different. Normally I would have picked a red dress but none of the ones that I saw were different or wow inspiring. This one is really cool!
Where’s the picture? Is there a link to a website that sells the gown?
Wait a minute… Who the heck gets a “Birthday gown?” Are you a duchess, or something?
Marine Corps Birthday Ball!

I am pumped. Never had a dress like this…its very Hollywood glam.
Oh…
Semper Fi! Have a great time! That is a cool dress. Mrs. Firefly has a figure that allows her to pull off stuff like this. She has a very hard time paying big bucks for clothes (Gosh, I love that woman!), but she has found some bargain, glam stuff for special occassions. I’m always very happy to have her on my arm when she goes out in full length gowns and dresses. It instantly raises folks’ opinion of me, “If he can snag something like that there must be more to Rufus than I expected…” Of course, I’m also very happy to have her on my arm when she’s wearing jeans and a sweatshirt and has her red locks in pony tail sticking out of a baseball cap.
Also, I’m blatantly heterosexual, but even I have to admit there is nothing cooler on a guy than the Marine Corps. dress uniform. When I’m at a function and a guy is wearing one of those I don’t even pretend any of the gals will look my way, including Mrs. Firefly. That get-up instantly attracts all chick eyeballs within a 5 mile radius.
yeah well Hubby looks pretty damned fine in his mess dress. It will be doubly awesome with his new rank. The ball is always a lot of fun…its a marine wifes red carpet moment and I do not go in last years dress…heh.heh.heh.
Nice dress! I’m sure you’ll look lovely in it!
Rufus there is more than one person in the world I’ve thought “hmmmm, I really think that person is an idiot, but I really really like their spouse. Maybe I should give said spouse some credit and see what it is that makes this great person love them” And I’m sure that that same grace is what has allowed me the friends I have.
Oh joy! The lady in the seat next to mine on this small, regional jet has an arse the size of Delaware, AND she reeks of cigarette smoke. I’m pressed up against the fuselage wall like a sardine.
Calgon take me away!
Hey, I’m not that big!
Awe Rufai…I feel for ya man. Poor baby.
Today is my lucky day. After about 10 minutes (seemed like a lifetime) with my body plastered against the fuselage one of the flight attendants mentioned we needed more weight up front. My seat mate took the hint and I was finally able to exhale! Bad news, Stephanie. She was carrying a bright green, Packers logo handbag.
Not really bad news. Thats par for the course…its funny when I was back home last time the kids and I mean younger ones were looking very svelte and in good shape. But then you have the heifers running around. Barf.
A doc on the making of Holy Grail is on IFC tonight. Brilliant.
