Blacks need Democrats… at least according to the Department of Justice. I think it’s also the other way around. When Blacks try to dump the Democrat party, it gets drunk, declares its love and then slaps the snot out of them — or something like that. From The Washington Times:
KINSTON, N.C. | Voters in this small city decided overwhelmingly last year to do away with the party affiliation of candidates in local elections, but the Obama administration recently overruled the electorate and decided that equal rights for black voters cannot be achieved without the Democratic Party.
The Justice Department’s ruling, which affects races for City Council and mayor, went so far as to say partisan elections are needed so that black voters can elect their “candidates of choice” – identified by the department as those who are Democrats and almost exclusively black.
Isn’t that special? I smell a lawsuit brewing. If Democrats start ordering Blacks around like this with thuggish tactics that creates an opening for conservatives. And of course — this will be all over the news — I mean FOX. Glenn!

I’ve never really understood why we don’t make more out of this: There’s only one party that not only stood for slavery, but also attempted a revolution against the US government AND instututed a one-party democracy in their breifly-extant own country, and it *ain’t* the CPUSA, who, by comparison, are quite nice.
It’s the Democrats.
Don’t you love how the party that is constantly moaning about bi-partisanship cries “no fair!” when it’s actually achieved? Like everything else about the Democrat party, “dialogue” is uni-directional.
Here is what cracks me up about Democrats and the black community. This is the general thoughts the Democratic party have about their black voters:
* They’re too ignorant to operate fancy electronic voting machines.
* They’re too dumb to get a job or into college on their own merits.
* They’re too stupid and lazy to get a driver’s license.
* They’re all poor and thus need our handouts.
* They aren’t bright enough to resist the liquor store on the corner.
Seriously if I was a black person I’d hate the Democratic party for constantly insulting my intelligence and viewing me as a lesser being.
I think you are spot on Veruckt. Very well stated.
Floyd, you messed up,
It gets drunk, beats the snot out of them, and THEN declares its love for them. Then smacks them again to make sure they got the message.
You’re right Kit. Thanks for the correction.
One of the reasons I became a Republican was a sudden realization that the Democratic Party’s view of black people had not essentially changed since the days of slavery. One of the chief defenses of the institution, before and during the Civil War, was that black people were like children. They needed someone to look after them, feed, clothe and house them. Otherwise they’d just die in this mean ol’ world.
That’s still the Democratic view. They’ve just changed the reason from “racial inferiority” to “systemic racism.”
I do definitely think we’re better, both historically and morally than the Democrats, but I do see a lot of these same problems creeping in to our own party.
“The road to hell is paved with good intentions.”
“Dammit!!! Black people need us whether they like it or not!!!!!”

“…partisan elections are needed so that black voters can elect their “candidates of choice” – identified by the department as those who are Democrats and almost exclusively black.”
Um. Correct me if I’m wrong here but isn’t the point of voting is so that the voters can determine who the candidate of choice is? I guess voting is made a lot easier by the Obama administration now, in case you were confused the Justice Department can now tell you who you’re suppose to vote for.
not just slavery, but Jim Crow laws and segregation…and 82% of Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Acts and only 60% of Dems…and the 18% Republican number is because they believed that quotas would be soon in coming. Hubert Humphrey declared he would eat the legislation if that ever happened…no record on when he did indeed digest the bill.
