  • In a hastily called news conference in 1928, Will Rogers announces to a thunderstruck crowd that he has finally met a man he didn’t like.

Last night in a fit of boredom I did my version of an Obama tribute. I think this needs to be a Threedonia headline picture:

Well that’s down right iconic Veruckt

Floyd, let’s start a Threedonia PAC so we can help out Veruckt!

Thank you gentlemen. I may soon need a PAC, in a disturbing turn of events I can’t help but notice my boss is cleaning out his office. No one is telling me why and in our office’s current climate you just try and keep your head down. This is very much a “tallest blade of grass gets the mower” sort of place.

Is there a way to embed an image into our posts, or do we have to just use links?

Soooo I’m just going to put this out there. Elizabeth Smart is hot.

I feel much better now that I have that out in the open.

I can’t even think of her in that manner. I think most of us have a “blood relative,” or “family” reflex that causes us to view folks we are close to Platonically. That same reflex seems to kick in when I see this poor woman’s visage in the supermarket check-out aisle. She has been through more than most of us could ever handle. I pray she has peace and a long and very happy life. If there is kharma in the world she deserves to have all her dreams come true.

“Soooo I’m just going to put this out there. Elizabeth Smart is hot.”

      I agree. She is Hot.

Nothing wrong with it Veruckt, she is beautiful.

But her inner strength makes her even more beautiful.

And her kidnapper should go to prison. For life. With hard labor.

Just finished watching the HBO mini-series House of Saddam on DVD. A pretty good film overall; no America-bashing or moral relativism that I could see. It focuses more on Saddam’s personal life and conflicts with his family members/inner circle rather than on his crimes against humanity. Although, to be fair, a four-hour movie about people being slaughtered and tortured would be pretty depressing and boring. The film does acknowledge these crimes, though: after Saddam’s fall, his wife and daughters see the mass graves being unearthed on TV and dismiss them as “American propaganda”. As ignorant as these women were, it’s no surprise that they were later found guilty of funding the insurgency.

I know what you mean Rufus and I feel horrible even thinking it but I think I left my conscience in my other suit when I came to work today. We need to compile a list of people who are hot but you feel bad for thinking they are hot.

A lot of it’s age. I’m probably old enough to be her father, so that makes the disconnect much easier. As my friend’s mother-in-law told her daughter upon the birth of their first child, “Congratulations! Now you will worry every minute of everyday of your life!” I had children of my own when Smart was abducted and one can’t help put personalize events lke that. Her parents did a good thing by hiring that drifter, yet look what happened. Sometimes life makes no sense and all you can do is try to make things as comfortable for those impacted by random events like this, as much as possible. The perpetrator is literally insane, so hoping for a slow, painful death for him isn’t the answer either. It was just a very, very unfortunate confluence of people at the wrong time and place.

      Veruckt,

To me its like this: You know how a lot of people say Megan Fox is hot? I cannot stand her. To me, she is about as attractive as a wet sack. She has no acting talent, her face has less emotion than a robot, and, judging by recent comments, ain’t that gifted in the brains department either.

Elizabeth Smart, however, is not only phsyically attractive, but intelligent, strong, and devoutly religious. In the wierd evolutionary way, she is perhaps what good men want in a woman. She survived the unthinkable and, judging by her recent court appearance, has decided she will not let what happened to her define her. (She has begun, or is about to begin, a mission. She is a Mormon)

Interesting inside baseball on NY23 over at Power Line.

  • Check out Clinton’s response to the Pakistan bombing:

    It starts at 21 seconds.
Was that supposed to make the Taliban quiver in their boots?

Glenn Beck just called Woodrow Wilson “the biggest racist to serve in the White House.”

  • Stephanie

He was a big racist Kit. The man desegregated the Military and helped impose different progressive programs that held minorities back. Woodrow Wilson was an elitist Ivy League asshat.

  • Kit

Not to mention that Wilson’s hadnling of the Flu Epidemic was pathetic.

It was not what he did do, but what he did not do: anything.
