His new Christmas CD is good. Funny how it is also the only album of his solo stuff I own. We do have a ton of the Police though.

I stopped listening to him after hearing his interview with Oprah (see, this is why I avoid extra knowledge about my celebrities) back in the 90's sometime. He was yapping on about how sometimes he felt so isolated from "real life" that it stifled his creativity, so to get back into it, he would go to strip joints. Cause you know, strip joints are all about reality. Why he couldn't go volunteer somewhere, or as another commenter pointed out, get a real job, I have no idea. Guess it's not as real as women humping poles for lonely men.

After that, I started noticing how so much of his stuff deals with fairly unhealthy sexual relationships or a screwed up worldview, so it ruined his music for me. I really appreciated the music still, but the lyrics were killing it. He wouldn't know real life if it bit him on the butt.

I wonder how many times he had to pause during that interview to take another hit off his bong.

Hey, Gordo and the rest of you. If you're feeling that guilty about having a talent and paying the bills (and then some) with it, instead of going off on these "I'm on a mission from God" self-delusions and self-justifications, why not just quit and get real jobs like all the rest of us? Shouldn't that make you happier? Or maybe it is about the money?

As someone pointed out on another site the other day, actors used to be considered slime only slightly above prostitues. The only actor from prior to the 1920s that anyone remembers is one that took his politics way too seriously: John WIlkes Booth. So, Gordo, is that the example you people are trying to emulate? 'cause you loudmouths had your chances during the 8 years of Chimpy McBushilter's Reign of Error to join Confederate Johnny.
