My theory – listen up all you naturalists/nature freaks, out there – is that capitalism is natural – socialism/communism are mechanisms devised by man to subvert the natural process. Capitalism, is almost a perfect reflection of the natural word – those that hunt and gather have a greater chance of survival than those who do not.

You can try to take from the hunters and gatherers and give to the layabouts, but you are not going to build a healthy pack, community, nation by doing so. You will actually weaken those who are not contributing, because they haven’t learned to contribute, themselves. And we all know what eventually happens to the weak in nature – or New Orleans.

Now I’m definitely NOT one of those who would leave an individual who is unable to provide for themselves (through no fault of their own) to the fend for themselves. There is the Christian ethic I live by. But as a Christian, I also understand the parable of the talents – we are made to work, to use our skills, to even make the “master” richer – if you follow the parable.

Well… that’s my theory – or to put it in a way BHO might understand – “Thus endeth the lesson.”
