Designed and Produced in Threedonia – For Threedonians
Now that the results of the off-year elections are in, fair-weather conservatives are coming out of the woodwork, and while I welcome their vote, they are still kind of – what’s the word? – annoying.
That’s the word.
1976 was my first vote for President, and I gave it to Carter…4 years of that thick lipped baboon converted me,so it turned out ok
Wow Scott… that is quite a confession. You must hate yourself everyday.
I thank God I was only 8 and unable to vote lest I was tempted to do the same thing.
Even before typing this I already know I will regret this more than Hall and Oates and the Fiat Spider…
I voted for Dukakis.
Ok, since we’re confessing here I’ll add my shame:
I voted for Perot.
Forgive me.
So you were responsible for Clinton’s election!!
YES! It’s all true. That’s exactly the way I thought of my vote once I realized the error of my ways.
I voted for Ann Richards in 1990 for TX Governor — but only because the Republican candidate made a stupid rape joke (which begs the question — is there a smart rape joke?)
My parents when as Clayton and Richards for Halloween that year. They didn’t get along either.
That joke was something my grandfather would have made, so it didn’t really bother me at the time, but was a terrific mistake.
that should say Williams and Richard, Clayton was his first name.
I can’t believe you’d admit you voted for him Scott. But I applaud your bravery!
the bane of the lib’s existance – unintended consequences.
“You mean, just striking a pose for empathy is not enough…?”
My first Presidential vote was for John Anderson (1980), which – I think – was worse than Scott’s gaffe. But, like Scott, I learned.
Would Anderson have been worse than Carter? I’m not at all sure. I voted for Carter, and I’m not going to let myself off the hook that easily.
John Anderson!…”He’s never heard of you, either,” — the name of the Doonesbury collection featuring Trudeau’s series on that campaign. I was an undergrad and captivated by him. Door-to-door I went; yes I did; trying to sway the masses! or, at least, the mass where I lived…
The poster’s a fine addition to the 3D store.
Garry Trudeau has been disappointing for years. He had a lot of promise and he grew rather bitter and ugly with age. Not sure what Jane Pauley sees in him…
Trudeau suffers from an advanced case of Liberal’s Disease: Sanctimonious Condescension complicated by self congratulation.
Used to think he was pretty good, until all that “Searching for Reagan’s Brain” crap came out.
another example that libs only have one play in their playbook.
I know it’s not the place but I got a hold of the 1990 page behemoth healthcare bill. Oh. My. God. I need a place to post it on here. You aren’t going to believe some of the mess in here.
I voted for Charlie Crist. Of course the alternative was Jim Davis so…catch-22.
Blackhawk you better vote for Marco come the primary next time….
If I am living and voting in FL he’s got my vote.
Are you a resident of Florida? If you get your absentee ballott information.
I’m a resident of Ohio now, but plan on returning to Florida. I just don’t know when that is going to be.
I’m voting for Marco. I voted for Jeb his last time around, and then Crist. I did vote for Clinton the first time, because George H. W. Bush didn’t seem to be an effective president, after the man who was Reagan. What a mistake, but I woke up after that. The 90s didn’t give us much of a choice for candidates … just like the last election. I hate it when it comes down to the lesser of two evils.
On the same theme, here’s the latest from my hometown editorial cartoonist, Gary Varvel:

Well done!
I can’t remember who I voted for in ‘72, Nixon or McGovern. Too long ago. I looked at the voting map. McGovern only took Mass and DC. Too funny:

I was a big McCain supporter in the primaries.
Scott, everyone makes mistakes. I think John Nolte was a Mondale supporter.
Sadly, I got y’all beat. From the Ultimate Badge of Shame department, I worked on Jesse Jackson’s 1988 campaign. I’m still doing self-imposed penance.
ERIC FOR SHAME! You are forgiven!
Jesse Jackson???
YHGTBSM!
Dude?!
McGovern (first vote), Ford, skipped, Reagan, Bush 1, Clinton (shudder…but it was a reactive vote, I had just been laid off), Dole, Bush, Bush, McCain.
I voted for Clinton, but only the first time. And since I was in college at the time, it’s very likely that I was drunk when I did it. But really, maybe I should be grateful. Clinton made me a conservative.
