This mashup was commissioned by Phish from an outfit called The Eclectic Method to introduce a concert they performed in Indio, CA on Halloween that was a cover of the entire Rolling Stone’s album Exile on Main Street. It is as advertised — a mashup from 99 classic albums Phish chose for the mashup
Loathe the proto-hippie Phish more than even the Grateful Dead (yet Phil Anastasio’s project with Les Claypool and Stewart Copeland was pretty tasty), so seeing them involved almost made me skip this. However, dangle the collected words “Exile on Main Street” in front of me and I’ll bite harder than a great white on a helpless swimmer. Good thing, too, ’cause this li’l mash-up got down to it. Fun stuff, Floyd!
