The main and important difference… in The Jerk, Navin Johnson is eventually good for poor Blacks (and they for him) whereas Liberalpolicies re-enslave them.

This movie wasn’t quite funny when I was ten, but even less so when I was older and got all the jokes. Steve Martin’s characters were too forced to really be funny, on and off SNL.
