Can’t for the life of me figure out why I can’t take my eyes of Lady Gaga (blonde, inked to hell, shrimp-boat, typical NYC lefty celebritard; i.e., totally not my type), but her videos have been pretty entertaining, at the very least not your average concert-clip, lovers’ lament montage crap passing as videos these days. Then this acid trip comes across my radar, has WTF?!?! written all over it … till I learn Constantine and I Am Legend director Francis Lawrence did the video. Still a major WTF?!?! but at least now I know why, don’t I?
I don’t know. I feel like you could catch a pretty nasty case of the clap just by looking at her for too long.
I have the same feeling, blackhawk. I saw about 15 seconds of her on something and wanted to scrub my skin with brillo pads, injest a handful of amoxycilin and take a long, 211 degree shower afterwards.

I admit that I never thought I’d see Lady Gaga inspire a Threedonian discussion. This place always surprises me!
It’s very 80’s, musically. What were we smoking?
So…she is drugged and sold to the highest bidder ala Liam Neeson’s daughter in “Taken”. bad romance, indeed.
I bet this is the music playing in the waiting room of Club Gehenna
Why do these skanks pic blonde hair to be their color? Gaga….go back to your natural ugly roots OK? You are an embarressment to the blonde sisterhood….cripes!
OOOOkay, there were parts in there where the song sounded like late eighties, early nineties dance music. The dancers at one point were doing the moves from “Thriller”, wonder if they had to pay the Jacko estate for that privilege?
Pretty strange stuff. Skanktacular!
Maybe that’s why the 80’s stuck with me.

So does this make Hungry Like the Wolf seem like an easy-to-follow flowchart in comparison?
Funny, I kind of get this Marilyn Manson vibe from this video. Maybe they’ll do a duet – kind of a musical murder/suicide.

I feel the need to defend the 80s from Lady Gaga. =P
This reminds me very much of Europe’s clubbing music from the mid-90s. Anyone else remember Beautiful Life by Ace of Base?
Well, she kind of reminds me of Madonna–because she does like shocking people–but where Madonna was a cool-headed strategist, Lady Gaga just seems insane.
They both seem to have a mental disorder that causes them to crave attention at any cost.
Lady Gaga is post-Madonna; with nowhere else to go, no other norms to be transgressed, it can only become more insane. For as much flash and glamor as was employed in the video, there is an almost nihilistic undercurrent in it. Too bad, as I enjoy a well-deployed use of the 80s vibe.

Nihilism!!! That’s the word!!!
Not just for the video, but for everything Lady Gaga is putting out there for public consumption.
