I hate the effects-laden CGI orgy that big budget movies have become nowadays more than anyone but I have to say I’m kind of excited about this. Sill not sold on Sam Worthington but this trailer makes it look like the effects will be used to enhance the story rather than replace it.

I wish Hollywood would be original as much as the next sane person, but as someone who saw the Clash of the Titans ’81 version way back when at the drive-in, few movies could be best served by a modern FX update. Original will always hold a special place in my heart, thanks mainly to Burgess Meredith and the Harryhausen stuff, but Worthington doesn’t bug me that much … plus Neeson, Postlethwaite, Fiennes and Danny Huston? Hell yeah!!!

Agree,Floyd,Zulu is a great movie.Both sides in the battle are shown as brave warriors….the only character really shown in a bad light is that whining pacifist missionary played by Jack Hawkins!(then again,the bare breasted women didn’t hurt,either).
I was at a backyard youth group picknic or whatever when this movie first hit cable, and ended up watching it sitting right next to my preacher. Then the naked chick got out of the pool in the film all naked and stuff. Awkward moment. Very awkward moment. Particularly when you’re like 15
Lars, at least the original Clash of the Titans had the Scandinavian monster, the Kraken. I’m just wondering if there are titans in this one because the original didn’t have one, unless the Kraken was supposed to be one … but that’s only one, so they should make Titans singular. But since the Kraken is Scandinavian, I’m not giving it to them, so there are not titans in it. There.
Since we’re talking movies, for anyone who loved “Super Troopers”, the Broken Lizard guys are trying to make a funny movie yet again.
10 DEC 09 their latest attempt to recapture the funny, The Slammin’ Salmon hits theaters. I trust it will be closer to “Super Troopers” than “Club Dread”.
