I have long since ceased to be amazed by the short-sighted stupidity, pettiness and blantent bias of the Mainstream Media. What does amaze me is how they can continually find ways to be even more short-sighted, stupid and petty whilst flaunting thier bias.
From the Steyn-o-souras, posting at NRO on Saturday:
… the Associated Press assigned eleven writers to “fact-check” Sarah Palin’s new book, and in return the eleven fact-checkers triumphantly unearthed six errors. That’s 1.8333333 writers for each error.
The MSM is being flushed down the toilet of irrelevance and they are yanking the cord themselves. Remarkable.
I saw that! Hilarious!
were Barack Obama’s books given so thorough a rectal exam?
JJ – One does not question the Word Of God.
You may want to write that down.
I bow Rich…that was outstanding.
Aren’t there any MSM journalists fed up with the bias? Did they rigorously fact check Gore’s latest book? What about Bill Clinton’s memoir?
You think one’s jaw can’t drop any lower … and then you read stuff like this.
Shame on them. All of them.
All I can say is, she must scare the crap out of these people.
The AP’s defense is that they had so little time to fact-check the book that they had to assign many people to split it up.
So the question is, why was it so important to fact-check this particular book so quickly?
and today Palin’s interview with Oprah airs. I’m sure palin’s people engotiated with Ms. O To insure there are no couric moments. Hopefully Palin had learned that much for her pains.
Facts are not facts to the MSM, they are weapons. When facts are being used not to inform but rather to destroy there are no lengths they won’t go to when it comes to finding as many as possible for the arsenal.
Just a reprise of the after action reporting on Palin’s debate with Joltin’ Joe Biden. You will recall that any potentially questionable claim by Palin was examined with the attention to minute detail typically demonstrated by internet trolls whil the obvious fact that Biden inhabits an alternate reality was blithely ignored. I skimmed through the AP “fact” check and quickly determined that it was not worth close examination with several “corrections” wholly missing the point.
RES,
Quite right. There were some outright knee-slappers in Biden’s V.P. debate, and little attention was paid to them.
I’m pretty sure one fact checker could come up with more than a half-dozen errors (some of us call them “lies”) in the average casual response from Bill Clinton.
Kenn is completely right she must scare the crap out of these people. The question though is why? Are they really this afraid of a strong willed independent woman? Is it because she is not of the Ivy League cloth? Is it that they can’t seem to break her?
The laugh of it all, the 11 fact-checkers managed to find a total of six items in a 400-page book to contest. I’ve love to average that to cost per mistake.
I’m still waiting for a vigorous fact-checking of anything Obama has said or done, from college till now. I’ll be waiting a long time.
Also, Ben Smith of Politico is taking on Max Blumenthal for playing the race card on Palin’s co-author.

Question: Is Robert Stacy McCain really against interracial marriage or is this a smear? I’ve read some of his stuff and never saw it mentioned, but given his over-garrulousness, maybe it was an easy miss.
