Woodward had a great presence, particularly on The Equalizer, which was must watch back in the 1980s. The opening credits are all over YouTube.
In an unrelated note, Ken Ober – formerly of MTV’s Remote Control – passed away over the weekend at the age of 52.
While I hated the non-videos path this led MTV (at a time I still cared), can’t deny how entertaining I found Remote Control … and lusted after Kari Wuhrer. Thanks for the heads-up, JFN, and RIP Mr. Ober.

This makes me sad. I always like Edward Woodward… Ken Ober to? OMG……….
So sorry to hear that..in the film of “A Christmas Carol” with George C Scott,he played The Ghost of Christmas Present
And I’m a pagan too
Breaker Morant is in my Top 100; certainly it’s the best Aussie film ever — and that’s a tough competition. If you haven’t seen it, I agree with Turbo: ‘flix it.
Such a lovely man; a man’s man; from what I could gather from interviews, a true professional, too. He’ll be missed. My thoughts and prayers go to his family.
And P.S.: If you wonder what’s going to happen to the C.I.A. agents after the KSM/NY/ACLU hoedown, watch this film (“..And if you wish to leave these shores, for pity’s sake, don’t shoot ‘em!“). And be very, very afraid.
The last time I saw Edward Woodward was in 1999. He was guest-staring on “Crusade,” a failed B5 spinoff that his son Peter was on the cast of. I was surprised at how old and frail he seemed there. Peter, curiously, remains rather ageless.
