Believe it or not, medical professionals aren’t all in the tank for President Obama’s Healthcare plans currently being shoved down an unwilling nation’s throat (or the other end, take your pick). To prove this, rallies will be held all across the country tomorrow, featuring doctors and other speakers to discuss rational and responsible ideas for reform. You may even see more than a few bring their own white lab coats, too.
LA’s rally was organized in part by Megan Barth and Doctors Joel Strom and Reed Wilson, in conjunction with Docs 4 Patient Care. Check out the D4PC site to find out what’s going on in your neighborhood.
OK, Veruckt, I set the table for ya. Now please take it up, up and away …
Here’s hoping the Catholic Bishops are the ones that wind up throwing the monkey wrench in the works, for Saturday’s vote. Unless there’s forceful language in the bill against using federal funds – I think the Dems are in BIG trouble.
Of course, I would LOVE to see them add it to the senate bill and see what kind of ruckus that would cause.
I didn’t know if it was day or night…
Sorry Eric caused me to get Love Potion Number 9 stuck in my head. Thanks.
An important thing to know is that no fear sends shivers down the collective spine of the medical community more than these two words “Brain Drain”. For those of you who have no idea what that is:
Why are we afraid of this? Mostly because every nation that has government controlled healthcare experiences a flight of all of their capable medical professionals and guess where they come? If you guessed America give yourself a nice pat on the back. They come here because while we are not a true free market system we do offer significantly more opportunity for profit than nations with socialized medicine. Is this fear rational? Well depending on how much stock you put into surveys and polls it is very real. I’m going to link to an excellent article from Investors.com that discusses the results of a recent poll indicating 45% of physicians are willing to hang up their white coat and quit if this passes and 72% disapprove entirely, this whole article is a must read:

I’m going to try and write a post about why they would be willing to walk away if this passes this evening.
