The AMA were on tonight (or are on if you’re in Pacific time). You didn’t see or hear this (even if it were new):
and I heard Green Day and the Black Eyed Peas say “Give him a chance”…. this must be orchestrated? I can’t stand to watch the whole show and see if that’s the case. And of course him is Him… Zero.
Joe Bonamassa is awesome.
HIGHLY recommend a live album of his called “Shepherd’s Bush.”
Just saw Bonamassa in Indianapolis last month at Hilbert theater, home of the Indy Symphony Orchestra. I think that’s the fourth time I’ve seen Bonamassa live. He’s a hell of a nice guy and the hardest working man in show business. He regularly takes two or three swings through the U.S. and Europe every year and since August 2007 recorded two studio albums and a double-live album and is in the process of recording his next release for 2010 in between tour dates. He works constantly, and it has paid off. I saw him on a rain-soaked evening in Dayton in 2008 with 2700 people during the week – how many acts can draw that, even if they had major label support? Not many. Fan goodwill, talent and hard work.
The lead singer of The Killers summed up Green Day best, that no one is naive enough to believe Green Day doesn’t know what it’s doing when it goes on tour in Europe to swaths of kids screaming “I don’t want to be an American Idiot.” It’s a race between Green Day and the Dixie Chicks between whose fueled their careers off the most hate.
Green Day were pretty cool before they went political, but like many other artists who have gone political, they succumbed to the most dangerous delusion that fame provides — the mistaken idea that all those millions of people paying attention to you have a valid reason for doing so.
Green Day’s always been dookie as far as I’m concerned.
I don’t get the quotes around “Music” here. I suppose I could understand if it was around “American”, but no one’s going to argue that Greenday and the Dixie Chick’s are catchy as hell.
I was a big fan of the DC before they started getting all mouthy about W. Fun music. I still own one of their albums, but only because “Sweet Dreams” reminds me of Joseph (one of my sons who died during pg)
He’s saying the awards aren’t really for the music they make. And I will say that some of those people’s (Green Day, Dixie Chicks)songs suck.
Outlaw! You Son of a b*tch, I read your book!
Did you get my e-mail?
Yep, sorry I didn’t reply sooner. Doing it now. The real quote is, “…you magnificent bastard, I read your book”
You’re right, and so was George S. That wording is much better. In Stripes I thought Ox says it my way, but I could be wrong.
I have left things bobbing in a toilet that are 50 times better than Greenday’s best album. Sorry for the crude imagery but it’s true.
Veruckt, you just made me spit a little coffee on my keyboard. Very appropriate though it might be an insult to your BM.
Hope the cold/virus you mentioned on another comment thread is in retreat!
@ Outlaw13: Gotcha’. Hype overiding actual content. I can agree with that.
