Floyd, was talking just now with an e friend of mine in Tehran…a doctor who longs to tear off her headscarf! She is in the opposition, and she says that they despise BO for his cowardly reaction to the events in Iran. She says that what wanted were words of encouragement, but they got nothing

      Scott,

I agree that the mis-handling of the Iranian counter movement was immense. President Obama severely miscalculated reaction to those events and it will likely come back to haunt us.

oh for the days of Ronny Ray-gun.

Oh boys and girls….Mary Landrieu got 300 million for her vote from Dingy Harry? Can we say pay to play? And whats worse..she is hosting a fundraiser for him in a month. This stinks of Blago……

  • CNN ran yet another story over the weekend about how people who are critical of Obama’s policies are “motivated by race.” Despite having no basis in reality, that narrative simply will not die.

Since the left refuses to stop flogging this dead horse, can we not also make the case that much of the Bush Derangement Syndrome they displayed over the past 6 years was motivated by bigotry against Southerners? If you don’t agree with that, check out how southerners are portrayed in, say, every movie Hollywood has made in the last 30 years.

OH I agree. Southerners get scorched and Fargo scorches people from my neck of the woods. If you are so uncool as to be from north of Chicago and South of the Mason Dixon Line, or have the audacity to be from anywhere other than New York, DC, LA, San Fran, etc. then you are a target for discrimination. It is perfect example of upper class or coastal arrogance and elitism on roids.

I was reading a German article on Obama’s foreign policy failures (which have been universal by the way) and I think it is laid out very nicely in here. Worth the read:

What it really all comes down to is you will never gain anyone’s respect by being submissive.

Also don’t even get me started on the disrespect shown to Southerners. I may have been born on the east coast but I consider myself a Southerner through and through at this point in my life.

  • I remember an interview with Robert Duvall, some years back. He said every southern state should erect barriers at its borders, to stop moviemakers from entering. “We know what you plan to do, and we won’t let you do it here.”

Well,it’s not totally negative,Veruckt…when I was in Paris in May I frequented a little grocery owned by a couple of Arab brothers. One of them asked me,”Where you from?”.”Tennessee”,I replied. His face lit up:”Ah,Jack Daniel!”

  • Veruckt

    Scott,

Did you know Sinatra drank so much Jack Daniel’s and brought them so much free publicity that they actually gave him a 3 acre plot of land right there at the distillery? True story.

On a side note I’ve contracted some demonic super cold / virus that has left me a bit off the last couple of days there is however a silver lining. In my effort to kill the super virus with every drug known to man I did get to use the following line earlier “I’m on so many drugs right now that Tommy Chong called me earlier and told me to take it easy and think about my health.” That’s pretty damn funny when you’re heavily medicated.

I hate teenagers. They should be seen and not heard.
