Any good Tiger Woods jokes yet?

  • Magnus Caseus Formatis

Is that a “Thomas” gun being brandished by the guv’nor?

  • Veruckt

Ah Winston. We’ve gone a long way from the days of Churchill defiantly carrying a gun while chomping on a cigar to our current leader who at seemingly every opportunity bends himself at somewhere between a 45 and 90 degree angle in front of every foreign leader.

  • Well, to be fair, a gun-toting black man from the inner city *IS* a stereotype that Obama *does* probably need to distance himself from. There are a lot of people who think he’s secretly some kinda’ gangsta’ rappa’.

Unrelated to any of that: It occured to me that I haven’t actually expressed my thanks to you guys. I am an annoying, pucilanimous, freethinking piece of work at the best of times, and you guys have *not* consistently caught me at my best. Even so, you Threedonians have gone out of your way to be nice to me, to incorperate me in to your discussions and your virtual community, and some of us have even become friends. This is far better than I deserve, given my track record at life, and it speaks very highly of you all.

I just thought I should mention it. Thanks for including me, folks. I appreciate it.

    • Aw honey, none of us are always on. You make me think (which sometimes I curse you for ;) ). I’m glad you’re here.

    • I have a feeling, R3, that I agree with you a lot more than I think I do. I suspect you mostly comment here when you disagree with the consensus, which is fine. Plus, I’m a consistent BarryO defender. Am I gonna make you feel unwelcome? Blogs where everyone agrees all the time are really boring.

By the way—and I only bring it up because I made the same mistake for many years—I think you might have meant to call yourself “pugnacious,” ’cause “timid,” you ain’t. :)

We used to have that poster of Winnie at LI and the one where he says Earn Victory….awesome.

  • Mr. Sideous

“We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.”

No wonder president Zero doesn’t like Churchill.

  • Churchill also said that capitalism is the unequal distribution of wealth. Socialism is the equal distribution of misery.

  • Veruckt

    Great Churchill line Sideous.

I’m happy to announce I have now seemingly officially recovered from my week long battle with the non-swine flu and am able to put together coherent or semi-coherent thoughts again. Good times. Last week I was in full zoned out Tommy Chong mode. With that said I am planning to release a restructuring of the healthcare system that would actually work and this week will be an ideal time to release it since they’re “debating” this festering turd of a bill as we speak.

  • Huh. Slow day.

Well, anway, you might find this interesting: I’m not one of those people who believes in Global Warming, but this article is fun because it points out that if it *IS* happening, all the “Go Green” programs are basically adding to the problem, and also if it *IS* happening, we’re already screwed, screwed, screwed, screwed. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/11/091123083704.htm

Of course it *isn’t* happening, but the more paranoid among you man now start to rail on about how Obama is deliberately trying to collapse the world economy in order to save Gaia, or some such stuff.

Here’s some great news! The voters of Switzerland defied their craven national government and voted to ban the construction of minarets, those towers around mosques where the call to prayer is shrieked out 5 times a day.The vote was 58% nationwide, over 70% in some cantons.Naturally the Muslims are screaming bigotry, although they are allowed to freely practice their faith, while Christians are denied the right to preach the Gospels in Muslimland…

  • Some ASU students just shouted down Sheriff Joe Arpaio at a — get this — “First Amendment” forum.

I have no doubt the irony is utterly lost on them. They seem to believe their First Amendment rights trump his.

One masked idiot (nice way to show your courage, asshole) said he was “against all borders, and racism!”

    I am…speechless.

      Wankette,

The oldest Firefly and I heard this story this morning and I used it as a teaching example since he’ll be headed to University himself in about 18 months. I told him the Administrators at the school need to grow a pair. The kids pay for the privilege of attending the University. That comes with responsibilities. The administration needs to tell students that if they cannot respectfully be quiet and still when others are speaking they are not fit to attend their fine University. Otherwise it’s not a fine University.

The Little Firefly wisely brought up Ahmadinejad’s speech at Columbia as a refutation of his old man’s addled logic (God, I love my kids!). I said even in that case the students should let him speak. I said I disagree with the Administration’s decision to host him on campus, but if the University makes that decision it needs to hold its students to an appropriate level of decorum.

Well,Wanks, what is great about 2009 is that conservatives finally decided to fight fire with fire and stand up to these little punk ass shits on the left…standing up to the bullies who have had their way for so long…
