I had canceled my afternoon class yesterday because I was taking some students on a tour of a state prison, but before I could post the sign on the door a student approached me and asked if she could have an excused absence. “Why?” I asked. “My friends and I are going to Orange County to protest Nancy Pelosi this afternoon.” “Let me give you gas money”, “No problem”, I said. The picture above is one of many from the OC Register… there were hundreds of protesters (read “over a thousand”) — I just like the Pelosi: Queen of the Damned poster. Here’s the story. The Tea Partyers got it going on… getting nearly or over a thousand to show up on a Friday afternoon is a tough thing.
