Music Video Friday

The College Widow got me thinking…  I really do like that video of James Brown performing “Gravity,” and it’s Friday…

Back in the Old Dirty Harry’s Place days Floyd, John Nolte and I had a tradition of sharing moments from classic films that we loved on Fridays (John carried the tradition on to Big Hollywood and an audience of bazillions and it was my idea, but I’m not bitter).  I think this was the inaugural video in that tradition.  I think I could watch this on an endless loop and never tire of seeing it. (keep in mind these are those old, metal wheeled roller skates!)

Like all the greats Kelly makes is look so easy and effortless. I have to admit to not being as familiar with Gene Kelly’s movies as I am with Fred Astaire and Jimmy Cagney.

Thank you for sharing this, Rufus!

That was wonderful! Even better than “Singing In The Rain”, which is one of my favorites! Always wanted to tap dance, became a drummer, instead. Still, the urge to move my feet does come on me, once in a while; but, since I can’t do any better than Steve Martin’s “Happy Feet”, I stay still until the urge passes.
