Al Gore Poetic Beat Down

poetry-slam

Took me all of five minutes to poetry-slam Big Al – admittedly not much of a feat – but at least mine rhymes. (You’re welcome Eric).

Ode To The Jester

“The science is settled!” the jester cried

A defiant tilt to his head

“We must act and quickly”

“Lest we all soon be dead!”

.

“The glaciers are melting”

(As glaciers will do)

“The snow will stop pelting”

(Were that was true)

.

A graph was produced

With exquisite care

Do we question its origin?

None would so dare!

.

“Down, now up – so very high!”

The jester declared.

“This line is our doom!”

And everyone stared.

.

“Should you distrust me”

“Just ask Dr. Jones!”

(Who was sadly in hiding)

(Along with his clones).

.

“We have consensus!”

“It’s plain to see!”

“And we spell consensus:”

“I-P-C-C”

.

“And now I must leave you”

“I’m sure you won’t mind”

“For I’ve been very busy”

“Hiding the decline”
