We are tortured with the likes of Lady Ga Ga, and this young lady labors in relative obscurity…damn shame I say.

ok, beat me up…but there are a couple of Lady Ga Ga songs that are pretty good…they’re decadent for sure, but they are good. Sorta like Cabaret back in the day.
Well said, Outlaw. Ms. Branch is both lovely and talented, and never felt the need to dress or act skanky to further her career, thankfully.
In regards to the title of this post, she’s still going strong. Her latest album was originally supposed to be released last month, but has been delayed due to economic issues (http://www.michellebranch.com/blog/michelle/open-letter-regards-album-release-date).
She went country, to a certain extent — which of course means that MTV immediately stops playing everything you’ve ever done or will do.
When they play anything at all, that is.
Lady Ga Ga is the one night stand you had in college after going home from the bar. Branch is the gal reaffirms your faith in God because you realize you’re a schlep who doesn’t deserve waking up to a girl like that for the rest of your days.
Also, search for Kina Grannis. My Lord, that girl is too cute for her own good.
Here she is in Gotta Digg, with her sisters as backup singers. Little dated, but it’s good and an original song.
So, what, did this chick win the Suzanna Hoffs Soundalike contest or something? The verses really sound like the Bangles. Chorus is better.
More soul than uber-cutie Suzanna’s voice, but can hear it in there. Great reminder find, Outlaw — fo’ sho’!!!
