We’ve all heard by now of the attempted Christmas Day bombing of a Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Detroit by a Nigerian Muslim claiming to be acting on behalf of al-Qaeda. What is emerging now is a terrorist who was a child of privilege who does not fit the cultural/ethnic profile. That’s because his nationality and his race have nothing to do with it. It’s not dark people who are blowing up things… it’s Muslims who are blowing up things — plain and simple. That most of them are dark-skinned is beside the point (witness Jihad Johnny Walker and Adam “the OC” Gadahn). Islam — as interpreted by a sizable minority of its jurists and clerics is the problem.
The irony seems to be lost on many of our “elites” as the so-called “religion of peace” produced yet another would be martyr trying to unleash Hell on the rest of us — this time on the day we celebrate the Prince of Peace. It’s time to speak plainly. Islam IS the problem. Whether it is moderates who are too afraid to speak out or it’s Islamic fundamentalists who do the fear-mongering. Yes yes… the Bible has it’s “darker” verses. NO — I repeat NO Christian theologian of any repute has interpreted those verses as literal in at least 100 years and probably multiple centuries. The same can not be said for Islam.
It’s time to quit pussyfooting around and profile these folks at airports. Peace-loving Muslims shouldn’t mind. Fundamentalists — and their race-baiting useful idiots in the “civil liberties” lobby and the media — would of course cry foul. Like Strother Martin said in Cool Hand Luke:

We are failing to communicate — because we’re not getting their message. Since we’re not getting the message of these fundamentalists — we can’t adequately kill reach them. I don’t like religious profiling. It goes against our ideals, but allowing the continued slaughter or attempted slaughter of innocent Americans and others is also against our ideals. It seems to me this is the way these radical Islamists want it — we just have yet to give them what they want — to quit pussyfooting and unleash hell back.
I thought that the threat was over since passengers are now prevented from using the bathroom during the last hour of the flight. Problem solved!

Until political correctness becomes a casualty of this war, we’ll continue having incidents like this. Wouldn’t want to be near the act that finally does it, though. People only seem to wake up, when lots of people die – and then, it’s only for a little while.
at the very least, an El-Al type system of security protocols should be instituted. At least that airline tries to find the problem people.

Thanks, Floyd. I noticed this comment and was wondering if it was worth the effort of replying. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has noticed a rise in the Dawkins-smug style atheists lately. My local paper’s web site is practically unreadable now that the forums and comments have been taken over by atheists and pro-abort/pro-death people. I’m really conflicted because I feel sorry for them yet they disgust me. I pray for them. I have stopped trying to engage them because they just want to be snarky and rude.
I wonder how he found this thread…a Googling of religion and stupid? Let’s pray for Dan. That will really tick him off.
