I have been amused and sickened by the latest campaign of N.O.W. (Nat’l Organization of Weenie-haters) to smear Focus on the Family — the sponsor of the infamous Pam/Tim Tebow ad — you know the one that argues that having a child is a good thing — so he can then abuse you. Now conservatives don’t usually go in for false advertising and Orwellian doublespeak nomenclature like “Media Matters” and “ThinkProgress.” Media Matters only for right-wing news outlets (all 3 of them), ThinkProgress neither thinks nor progresses and the National Organization for Wimmins does not represent weenie-lovers only haters.
Now Focus on the Family focuses surely then on organized crime, the inner city network of baby-daddies and bastards and white zombie-worshiping families hell-bent on populating this earth with bread-gobblers. Let’s take a look at Focus on the Family. They’re focus? Overcoming addiction (bastards!), encouraging people and families to (gasp!) eat dinner together and/or spend time together, helping married couple overcome adultery (judgmental!), and helping parents raise their children. It’s pretty straight up. You don’t have to agree with them on everything. I don’t, but they pretty much focus on the family. So no amount of caterwauling by N.O.W. about some feel good ad promoting “domestic violence” should denigrate this fine organization. In fact, NOW’s latest jeremiads only serve to make it even more of a laughingstock — not a bad thing.
Go to the NOW website. Here’s this screed about the coming horrors of “fetal personhood”, but very little about how Muslim women are treated in the Middle East and in the West. All of this works to the good of course. The Tebows and Focus on the Family are class acts all around and any comparison between them and NOW-types is bound to be a positive to the forces of light.

My question for NOW – has any of them seen an ultrasound?
Kudos for using “caterwauling”. I thought I was the only person to use this word…could you do me a solid and use “chortle”?
So my post isn’t completely irrelevant, NOW cannot have any idea how ridiculous they have made themselves look. They’re like PETA for mommy parts. The Tebow ad was the most benign thing I’ve ever seen and they’re talking about it like Timmy did a reenactment of one of the Saw movies on his mom.
You mean, it’s a negligent blow-up over something so trivial, it makes the attackers look bad in faith and deranged? Kind of like the media’s obsession with Sarah Palin’s palm scribblings?

NOW morphed into a lesbian social club years ago. Their only reason for existing at this point in time is to pick up contributions from rich progressives worried that the Christians will outbreed the lefties. Hence the insane reaction.
