Don’t worry, “W” not a “hatchet job.” I really mean it

Kiss me, lover

Preparing for another political foray into bombs-ville, Oliver Stone insists his portrayal of President George W. Bush is not a hatchet job. Apparently, Joe Isuzu wasn’t available to read the press release.

“I am not interested in that radical 15 per cent that hate Bush or the 15 or 20 per cent who love Bush. That’s not our audience. Those people probably won’t come. I’m interested in that 60 per cent in the American middle who at least have a little more open mind.”

I’m sure in Hollywood that 60-percent does beat poetry on screaming trees while wearing Che’ t-shirts.

But Stone is not going to make any “political judgements.” How can you dare accuse him of such a thing?

“I’m not making political judgments. We’re not looking to condemn. He says what he says and does what he does. You’re going to like him, and at the same time, you’re going to be horrified by some of the stuff he does.”

Horrified. How, uhm, middle.

At least one rising star was smart enough to stay the hell away.

This is getting to be a recurring event now. Hollywood leftist makes slap in the face message movie, then denies that it’s got a message or that it’s political.
Which quite plainy tells you that first, they’re dishonest and second they think the public are boobs.

“He says what he says and does what he does. ” And he forgot to add, “and we make a whole lot of sh*t up.”

  • Not to say that everyone who voted for him loved him, but wouldn’t any reasonable person be concerned more with trying to attract some portion of the majority who voted for Pres. Bush in 2004? I would dare say that a lot of these people do not want to see the movie teased at in the television spots.

He has it backwards. The only ones who will come are the ones who hate Bush.

15 percent hate Bush? The Democratic party is bigger than that isn’t it?

Hate is a mild term for what that 15 percent Stone thinks is at the left fringe. More like despise, scorn, derision and loathing is what the loony left feels toward Bush. Hate is for mainstream Democrats.
