God knows I’m always Penn State proud (by the way, all you Buckeyes punks fans, Coach JoePa will be on this weekend’s Radio Free Threedonia, and he welcomes your call-in questions), so in light of Rich’s fighter planes post, thought I’d share this story from Happy Valley with y’all.
91-year-old pilot still takes flight, designs planes
Bill Fuchs (pronounced “Foosh”) has been doing what he loves for almost a lifetime, but in his case, that amounts to nearly seven decades up, up and away. At 91 years old, Fuchs is a member of Penn State’s Class of 1941 and a resident of the Village at Penn State, a retirement community in State College, Pa., with hilltop views of Beaver Stadium. While some come to a place like the Village at Penn State to slow down, Fuchs has a different take on living. He spends his time designing and flying light aircraft. In Motion caught up with Bill Fuchs while he was getting his latest design up in the air.

AWESOME!
“Coach JoePa will be on this weekend’s Radio Free Threedonia”
Great get, Porvaznik! I know what a thrill that will be for you!
I’ll try to refrain from calling in and asking “How does it feel to lose to a guy wearing a sweater vest? Because you have lost to him…a lot.”
I’m sure Coach’s response will be, “How does it feel to have a graduation rate of approximately 50%?”
That said, I like Coach T, an admitted JoePa disciple, quite a bit.
JoPa for President!
