Some excerpts:
Verdict: It would have been a tie, but the convertible factor tips things in favor of the Mustang. Both cars look great in the flesh, though they do so in remarkably different ways. Round 1 score: 10-9 for the Mustang.
Verdict: A close round, with the Camaro‘s more advanced rear end landing a solid one at the bell. Round 2 score: 10-8, Camaro.

“eff the ‘effin Camaro. If it isn’t a FORD product, I ain’t buying it.
Best of the lot, IMHO, was the ’71 Mustang Grande.
My first car was a ’70 Mustang Grande.
Lack of begging for Federal funds…
Give it all to Ford!
My thoughts exactly. Ford didn’t tale any Government funding, and STILL showed a profit.
Excellent!
I still prefer the Dodge Challenger.
Of course, I like Ford for not takin’ that gubmint cheese. But my 6’6″ frame doesn’t fit in the Mustang. I know because I’ve driven my brother’s Roush Mustang, which was great fun to drive.
I really only prefer the Camaro because I know I can fit my fat ass into it more comfortably than in a Mustang.
By the way, the new base model Mustang will be the first wide-produced factory V-6 that gets 300 horsepower and 30 miles per gallon.
That’s amazing!
Mustang, Challenger, Camaro … all three worth having, but in what order? If you’re not carrying passengers, the Musatang, without a doubt. Then the Challenger – the most like it’s distant father of the three. Then the Camaro … not bad, but too much like a poor man’s Vette. You can really see how they tried to make a semi-Vette around the rear end and quarter panels. Nice looking, but tail end charlie in this group of cars ….
I do like the looks of the Camaro, but I’ve always leaned toward Ford’s. Now that GM has become Government Motors, It’s pretty much a done deal…unless it’s an older version.
I think that Ford did an excellent job on the retro look Mustang. Much better than they did with that thing that was supposed to pass for a retro Thunderbird. I’m not too thrilled with what they did to the tail end for 2010 though. Not in for the GMs anymore for the reasons mentioned above. I never did like Ford, but that was because the 4 I’ve owned over the years were highly unreliable and all but one tried to kill me.
For the time being, I’ll stick with my 06 Nissan Altima V6 manual trans. And it was manufactured in Canton, Mississippi by American rednecks, and will beat a Mustang GT hands down. Been there done that…twice.
