yeah, in the past they seemed to set widmore and ben as equal advisories (alex was killed – ben says, ‘he changed the rules’ – he confronts widmore in his bedroom), but now ben seems to have just been demoted to puppet boy. and with jacob and ex-locke being brought to the front – widmore seems an odd piece.

killing mr. ecko was a mistake of the show – he was a cool dude. though it seems he _could_ come back as a sayid zombie member of ex-locke’s army (maybe in the form of the baby claire made – that thing is freaky looking)
some say desmond is also an option, if for no other reason than he’s still credited as a main character but hasn’t been around for something like 7 episodes.
zombie’s just don’t care much about hair care. i mean, if sayid doesn’t care if kate is killed, claire caring about hooking up with someone must be down the list.
Linues and Widmore are locked in some kind of struggle similar to Jacob and Smokey. It is interesting to see the parallels between the two and whether Widmore and Linus will end up on opposite sides in the larger struggle.

Last time we saw Widmore he was at the hospital where Desmond was being treated. It may not be a “what” that’s locked up on that sub.
