Hello. I’m Eric Porvaznik and I love The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, not in a guilty pleasure kinda way either. Doesn’t take itself too seriously, has a rock and roll attitude (and genuine, knowledgeable love for rock and roll, along with a decent early 90s soundtrack including Billy Idol, Motley Crue, Sheila E, Tone Loc and Queensryche), sweet ride and a whip-smart-ass script by Daniel Waters (though, admittedly, this script doesn’t match the heights of Waters’ Heathers or Demolition Man). Sure, the “Dice Man” can be more entertaining (read, tolerable) in small doses, but with a supporting cast which includes a red-hot and ass-kicking Lauren Holly, a still tasty Priscilla Presley, Ed “Booty Time” O’Neill, Robert Englund, the mighty Wayne Newton, and Morris Day delivering one of my favorite lines of all time — “You got to shave before you leave the house in a dress like that… and I don’t mean your legs.” (said about a smokin’ Kari Wuhrer no less) — well, I have no shame and I’m not complaining. Crucify away, film buffs.
THE ADVENTURES OF FORD FAIRLANE (1990)
Ford Fairlane is a “rock and roll detective” who works in the music business, has an office on Sunset Boulevard, and drives a 1957 Ford, with clothing to match. He floats through the rock clubs of Hollywood, picking up women and clients, and soon stumbles into a case involving the death of a heavy metal singer, a corrupt music executive, the murder of a radio shock-jock, and the kidnapping of the jock’s alleged daughter. Director: Renny Harlin. 101 Minutes. Fox Movie Channel — 2:30 AM EST (Preceded by Bachelor Party at 12:30 AM)

Andrew Dice and Wayne Newton…that is some serious hair!
Eric, have you ever seen the old show “Crime Story”? Dice had a great role in that.
Have indeed seen it. Like I said, Dice in smaller roles isn’t that bad.
We saw this in the 90′s and thought it was really funny. Since I don’t have any movie channels, I will have to see if I Netflix has it. Keep your fingers crossed, Eric, so far no haters!
That is an awesome movie, you’ll get no complaints from me.
I’m with Outlaw on this one: no complaints from me. I haven’t seen it in a long, long time but really enjoyed it and thought it was darn funny.
I love this movie, too. Dice’s humor was gutter on the surface and witty down below. We were more immature at the time and loved it for that surface value. As mature adults, his un-PC flavor is why it sticks with us till this day.
The Diceman irritates me to no end, but…oh, who am I kidding, you had me at Kari Wuhrer.
Nicely played, sir! Birthday boy’s off the hook for the rest of the movie.
If I had any coronation powers, I would officially make you the King of Embedding, Outlaw.
[...] for my fellow fans of Dice’s finest moments on-screen, this silly post is for you as I unwind from Old 97′s bringing their usual “one of the [...]
