The Trifecta

Obama’s been compared to Carter, but this is just mean — even if deserved. From Jennifer Rubin at Commentary:

Obama has been compared to Jimmy Carter (in his misguided notions about the world), to Richard Nixon (in his sleazy backroom dealing and lack of transparency) and to LBJ (in his infatuation with government). Unfortunately, it appears that he embodies the worst of three unsuccessful presidents. And like all three, he may manage to drag his party down with him.

There’s a bit more at the link on the Obama/Clinton/Sestak bribe. There’s no question something illegal happened.

  • Floyd, the legal wiz-kid, not that it’s likely in today’s climate, but now that Rendell’s brazenly admitted he’s broken the law, an enterprising attorney could file corruption charges against him, yes?

    • the only problem is that a citizen can file charges, but the DA — an elected official would have to seek the indictment. A DA sufficiently afraid of the voters or ethical in his own right might do it. If he’s more afraid (or arrogant) of his political party (if it’s Dem) or just a scoundrel generally then no one can make him file charges unless the voters speak at the next election. The Founders really put the voters in charge — if we’ll just speak out and up.

If it’s a federal crime… the US Attorney would have to seek the indictment and they serve at the pleasure of the President and are under Eric Holder operationally. They have a lot of independence as the Scooter Libby case showed (among other things), but it would take someone with intestinal fortitude.

Okay, I have a question, What is going on with Sestak. All I am getting is bits and pieces and never even a 1/100th of a story.

What happened (or appeared to happen) and how is it illegal?
