Say goodbye to wires. The Georgia Institute of Technology (Trzupr Brothers insert joke here…) has announced a new, 60GHz chip that should allow for 15 gigabit per second data transfer rates over short distances.
I haven’t bothered to do the math, but that should mean even blu-ray quality disks can stream to a TV wirelessly. This will change things on the cellphone front too; blue tooth… Sounds like we should see it in commercial applications within 2 years.
Cool stuff!
