Isn’t Kristol reacting like a bit of an overly-sensitive baby? Damon, an actor by profession, disagreed with Kristol’s opinion. So Kristol, a political pundit by profession, challenges him to a debate?! Isn’t that just as douchey as Damon challenging some average Joe Movie-goer to compare box office receipts because he dared insult his performance in The Good Shepherd?

Regarding Damon’s statement and Kristol’s request for a debate; I think it would be wonderful and I hope Damon accepts. I believe both men would be civil and it would be worth watching. It would certainly be more constructive and informative than both men debating each other in the press.
Damon called Kristol an “idiot.” That’s a serious charge. He ought to be willing to defend his reasons and he ought to be man enough to give Kristol a chance to defend himself.
