Looked like this to me …
http://tralfaz-archives.com/coverart/N/Nimoy/nimoy_twof.jpg
OK Alex Jones at that shithole site of his Infowars is panicking people with some bullshit evacuation plan for the gulf coast. Of ciourse people are losing their minds over it with no thought to ponder HOW THE HELL WOULD IT BE DONE? WHERE ARE THE TROOPS? Maybe aliens from the planet dumbass show up and start it? And Beck is not helping. AT ALL! I am so GD sick of the lying bs people believe. ALl it does is cause chaos, panic people and help the real bad guys…OBAMA…grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Sorry for the language I am freaking fed UP!
I don’t know if this helps, but I don’t even know who the hell Alex Jones is. He must be a pimple on the mole of the butt of conservative talk radio — down somewhere way past the lowest because I could’ve named 10 conservative talk show hosts and maybe more and never gotten to his name.
Alex Jones isn’t a conservative…he’s more of a fear mongering type: the CFR and Trilateralists are behind everything bad, really lunatic fringe type conspiracy stuff. I mentioned this in a later comment but will repeat it here. I first heard him back in 2007 on Coast to Coast AM…back then he was trying to convince people that George W. Bush would not let the 2008 election happen and he would stay in power.
I’m waiting for Jones and Beck to panic all their ilk into leaving the country. If we could hitch them up with the progressive that promised to leave in 2004, we would be back on track.
Jones has Infowars website and then does Youtube and internet radio…..he has a following among the Ronulans out there and was the idiot seen on MSNBC screetching Kill Her at Michelle Malkin during the 08′ DNC. I have a feeling if someone followed the money trail the cash would find itself in Soros pockets or some Dem donor. He just wreaks of Goebbelsesque misinformation propagandist.
Beck went nuts today and I’d to pummle him for it.
And oh the latest insanity? apparently O’s super secret army that none of us know anything about is going to for the 6 states that are on the gulf to evacuate….wtf?! I am now officially in a pissy mood because this crap is merely misinformation designed to take people’s attention away from other REAL issues. Spent the entire morning driving taht home to….
someone someday has to explain to me why there are people out tehre that just have to believe in everything they read or see…if its on the net it must be true…huh?
I agree Stephanie. There is so very much misinformation on the net it’s not funny…and a boatload of it comes from the right as well as the left!
Alex Jones is a crackpot who loves to sell his shtick using fear. I first heard of him on Coast to Coast AM (formerly known as the Art Bell Show). He’s been pushing his ‘prison planet’ crap for a long, long time.
I don’t have a local station that offers Coast to Coast these days BUT the last opportunity I had to listen to the show they were hitting Obama pretty hard. The show has a strong following among nerds, weirdos and insomniacs to be sure but they also have their share of over-the-road truck drivers and normal people. When host George Noory discusses current events no one who called in was happy about high taxation, unemployment and you sure as heck don’t cut the NASA budget with this crowd.
It was always fun, late night listening and believe it or not on occasion had guests who were credible and not talking about UFOs. They’ve had a few guests who discussed the effectiveness of adult stem cells over embryonic.
Art Bell’s show was some of the best radio theater ever broadcast!
Years ago when I was listening to the Art Bell show late nights because of the shift I was working then, the bologny was already flowing about the gov’t. labor camps. That was just before Clinton was elected. So it’s been floating at least since early 1992, maybe even before that.
BTW…TCW, I will answer to the title “insomniac” but not the nerd or weirdo handles!!!
Hey, I was listening too many nights so I know there are some ‘normal’ people that listen. (As much as ‘normal’ would apply to me.) I remember some of those conspiracies from the Clinton era! It’s kind of refreshing to hear how many of their callers are so unhappy with Obama. Gives me hope that he won’t get a second term.
My local AM station doesn’t carry the show anymore and I miss it. I have to have a radio playing talk radio when I go to sleep and I just can’t do ESPN or Fox Sports because those guys are too obnoxious. When the radio station dropped Coast to Coast I had a hard time dropping off to sleep. I eventually started using my iPod docking station to listen to Mark Levin and Rush.
They have a feature on the weekends called “Somewhere in Time with Art Bell”. They’ll pull out a show from years past and it’s a stark reminder of how many things have changed. Art Bell is legend!
The very least that can be said about Bell is that he’s “one of a kind!” He used to do his show from his then home in Pahrump, NV, just 45 miles from Las Vegas. Do you remember a guy that used to call in from Santa Cruz, CA? He called himself “World Citizen” and sounded for all the world like a doped out hippy reject.
Not sure about World Citizen but remember when Bell was broadcasting from Paharump…wasn’t it called “Dreamland” in those days too?
In all sincerity I think Art Bell’s show was one of the best in radio history. Such fantastic theater and he was a great master of ceremonies. Have you ever heard any of Phil Hendrie’s Art Bell parodies? They are literally some of the funniest things ever broadcast!
I agree and have great affection for Art Bell. He is one of the radio greats blessed with a smooth voice and great quality with callers. He guest hosts on C2C on occasion and it’s always a treat.
He’s a little wacky on the global warming stuff though. Don’t know if you know this but he personally helped evacuate people during the fall of Saigon.
I saw that you just posted the Hendrie parodies and will check it out. Thanks!
TCW, Art did refer to Pahrump as “Dreamland” on occasion, but I think he was referring to the “state” of his program more than to Pahrump. I mean the town looks a lot like it’s name. It looks like something an old Indian Chief would take one look at and wander off muttering to himself, “Pahrump!”
The town is about 10-15,000 pop. and for the most part, a huge trailer park! Oh, I almost forgot, the closest whorehouse to Las Vegas is about 5 miles north of Pahrump out in the desert.
Steve Dahl in his glory days.
Bill Veeck,your country needs you!
So Polanski isn’t getting extradited, I’m waiting for Breitbart to melt a hole into the internet.
Yeah, and there are a bunch freaking over UN Agenda 21 as well. I’ve read most of it and it seems to do with worldwide crop agreements, water conservation…crap like that. It’s the most boring read I’ve ever encountered. If a person reads between the lines, they could make some headway, while at the same time assuming a lot that’s not actually in print in the piece. I’ll let you all decide what to think about it. Here’s the link:

A vagualy worded piece of junk with just enough to drive the weak minded paranoid into realms of insanity thus not encountered. Sighhhhhhhhhhhh
Right you are!
Opinion question. A friend of mine has began seeing a guy who is 38 which makes him 12 years older than her. While I do find that concerning what I really find concerning is he’s never been married before. I told her a guy only makes to 38 without being married one of three ways:
1. He’s lying and has been married.
2. He has major committment issues and probably gets around more than the common cold.
3. He’s an a**hole.
Am I right to be concerned here or am I being over protective?
You might be correct, but you could also be firing before you actually see the whites of his eyes. He may very well be in a situation where he just wants to make very sure he finds the right woman, and/or wants to make sure he’s financially stable before taking that headlong plunge. The way the world is today, financial stability isn’t quite as easy a thing to realize at nearly the early age it was when I was young(er).
Or, he could be an a**hole!
My brother is 36 and never been married and he’s a great guy, just hasn’t had the right combo of factors (job, girl, money) at the same time to pull the trigger.
My college buddy didn’t get married ’til 31 and he’s a pastor and a deputy sheriff so he may be just fine. Marriage would be easy to track. Asshole is easy to spot if she takes off the rose-colored glasses and doesn’t get desperate, but he may be a nice guy who slipped through the cracks of career, etc.
Thats my hubby..the adorable guy who slipped through the cracks till I got him! HA!
Um my husband was 37 when we got married so I don’t think his age is too much to worry about…her age is….she is a bit too young.
For some people, it’s just a combination of low social skills and bad luck. I was lucky enough to meet an amazing woman at 26 who is now Mrs. JimmyC, but that was after a long dry spell and many, many bad dates. If I hadn’t met her, I could easily see myself going through that ugly pattern for another 10 years.
For the record, I’m 59 and never married, due to a serious shyness disorder. I won’t argue that I’m a good marriage prospect, but I don’t see how I fit into either the a, b, or c categories.
So I’m probably just being over protective. See I’m 33 and never married (though I get married in a bit over two months now) but this guy set off a couple of my red flags by bringing a case of beer to a family concert in the park. I’m a teetotaler so I think that always sets off my alarms plus I’m notoriously protective of my friends and generally don’t trust guys because…well I am one so I know how our deviant minds work.
Nobody understands threats to female family members like male family members. If you’ve got a number of red flags, that likely means something.
I agree with that but I know my natural mistrust of men can sometimes blind me to otherwise good people.
Beer? At a concert? Say it ain’t so!
If you are a near a TV and can get FOX…more ev idence coming out that Obama may have forced the drop of the Black Panther case……impeachment people… the Dems now may have their very own Nixon!
That’s definitely the impression I have thus far, Steph. Of course O could probably claim that it was Holder’s doing and not his own.
Well gthat would be his excuse but I know Malik Shabazz’s name is on the White House guest rolls. Why would that be? The more stuff goes down the more radio active Obama becomes for everyone. I love it.
Bill Clinton, TCW, Bill Clinton, AKA best fall guy ever. Were he originally a native of Kal-El’s home planet, I get the impression he’d be able to tell kryptonite to suck it.
But you are forgetting EP….People liked Clinton. Thus far I get no impression that the Dem rank and file in congress (Beyond the crazy Maxine Waters types LIKE Clinton) and besides Clinton was a great politician….Obama is HORRIBLE. If push comes to shove the party will abandon him…watch.
I meant like Obama..my kingdom for an edit button.
I get that, Steph. I was merely alluding to Slick Willie’s ability to constantly take the heat from anything and get off scot free, due exactly to his likability factor. Remember, he was the fall guy for the Joe Sestak, ahem, job offer, so to me, Bill’s the perfect guy President Obama could throw under the bus instead of Holder as TCW mentioned.
Yeah if it was Sestak but this is Holder and the Black Panthers and Clinton has had nothing to do with this issue as far as I know. This is all Obama.
Nothing that Obama would do would surprise me! I think Bill Clinton was ‘floated’ as a fall guy for the Blago trial…or did I imagine that. Really, it’s hard to keep track of all of the machinations. Let’s face it, Nixon seems like a piker compared to Obama.
It’s called compare and hypothesize, Steph. I know it’s hard for you to
toleratebelieve people having opinions besides yours, but Donger say, eesh!In keeping with the Baseball riot theme of the title photo ….
I had the honor of treating Outlaw13 to a game at the local ballpark this past weekend – a belated birthday present. Now, here you have Mr. Baseball (screw Tom Selleck – he was a poser …), wearing his Astros hat into a Rangers game. (Ok, forgiven – both teams are from Texas…) He is tortured for almost 3 hours, having to sit in a leather recliner in an airconditioned Corona Club, all you can eat ‘dogs and ‘chos, and a personal waitress keeping his Dr. Pepper IV drip flowing freely. Only thing missing was a couple of Vietnamese girls giving him a massage and pedicure. Oh, and the game sucked – Rangers stunk up the place. In any case, it was comfortable, if not exciting.
Here’s proof – (and he’s not smiling – that’s ‘dog #1 in the middle of being consumed, with #2 in hand, close behind) …
Outlaw, that dog looks mighty good.
It does indeed!
Yeah, they weren’t bad…the price was right.
I always appreciate bad pictures of me…that’s awesome.
Naw, you look fine, Outlaw and who would tell you otherwise? Seriously, you look like a man who’s enjoying himself. Sorry about the Rangers loss but they can’t play the Indians all the time.
Corona Club, eh? Well look at you fancy cats!
Awesome! Corona Club and everything! Fantastic!

Keep aborting those babies, its the right thing to do.
Having seen that episode I would say that it isn’t being described the way I saw it. The girl sought advice from the coach’s wife and she gave pro-life advice until the girl asked about an abortion, the principal then said she could get her literature about her choices.
The episode didn’t end the way around here would have wanted, but the show wasn’t one sided…and the girl was portrayed as been a bit traumatized by the experience…so I wouldn’t say it was an ad for abortion.
Thanks for the clarification. I don’t watch the show and I know Newsbusters does tend to do the full court press on issues like this, however they did mention the subject was not dealt with lightly. That clip appears damning.
Ginia Bellafante (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/10/arts/television/10lights.html?_r=2) praised it, “What was striking about the exploration of Becky’s circumstance on ‘Friday Night Lights’ was the extent to which the opposing view was depicted as obtuse and out of touch.” and “‘Friday Night Lights’ chose to maintain its commitment, above all, to the world it renders — and to its quasi-Marxist understanding that economics dictate everything.”
Not exactly sure what she means, I infer Friday Night Lights is quasi-Marxist. And from the other leftist sites that seem to imply the dominance of the self as the most important factor of having an abortion. Seeming to ignore that should mean the real choice is if to have sex or not without regard to consequences. That issue just seems skipped over entirely in all these cases. So I’m not inclined to let Friday Night Lights off the hook.
Well I would tell you that what they showed wasn’t entirely unrealistic and if you damn them without seeing it…well that’s not particularly fair.
The girl who got pregnant has been shown as having no Dad present, mom is distant and never there when she needs her, she was rejected by a guy that she had a crush on and then to “get back at him” has sex with another boy…nope, that has never happened, ever. You never even knew they had sex (wasn’t shown or even hinted at on screen) till she told the father she was pregnant. He immediately told her he would support her and the baby and do what ever it would take to raise the child. He said it several times. The girl’s mother was adamant that she have the abortion…basically pushed the daughter into it. Because she had a one time fling with the father of the baby there really was no relationship there and their talk was strained at best. I don’t think the opposing view was depicted as obtuse or out of touch, unless that’s the way you preferred to view it.
Obviously I don’t work for the NY Times so feel free to take their word for it. Different people can see the same thing differently.
I felt the mother’s hysterics calling the doctor a right wing nut, was the kind of reaction an hysterical woman hell-bent on her daughter getting an abortion might resort to if she felt her daughter might be persuaded by the doc to not have the procedure.
Sorry my comment got above yours there, Outlaw. I must have hit reply instead of the comment box.
Oooh, this is interesting. Drudge has a headline about Mort Zuckerman admitting to writing at least one of Obama’s speeches. Reminds me of the stories I heard last week about Zuckerman being very critical of Obama at the Aspen Institute Conference recently.
you mean the one you read here right TCW?
HA! TCW five peat!
