It seems pledge Dumbass has waded — finally — into the LeBron James free agent “no ring” circus. Of course the Cleveland Cavaliers can’t just be pathetic, sympathetic, spurned, foolish, betrayed or whatever you feel went down in the whole spectacle… no — Cleveland must be racist:
Jesse Jackson criticized Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert on Sunday, saying Gilbert sees LeBron James(notes) as a “runaway slave” and that the owner’s comments after the free-agent forward decided to join the Miami Heat put the player in danger.
Shortly after James announced his decision last week, Gilbert fired off an incendiary letter to Cleveland’s fans, ripping the 25-year-old and promising to deliver a title before James wins one. He called James’ decision “cowardly” and later told The Associated Press he believes James quit during a handful of Cavaliers playoff games.
“He has gotten a free pass,” Gilbert told the AP in a phone interview late Thursday night. “People have covered up for (James) for way too long. Tonight we saw who he really is.”
Jackson said Gilbert’s comments were “mean, arrogant and presumptuous.”
“He speaks as an owner of LeBron and not the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers,” the reverend said in a release from his Chicago-based civil rights group, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition. “His feelings of betrayal personify a slave master mentality. He sees LeBron as a runaway slave. This is an owner employee relationship—between business partners—and LeBron honored his contract.”
First… one must be “revered” to be a Reverend — and having an actual church at which you preach or a congregation or parish you actually shepherd would actually help. Gilbert’s feelings of betrayal “personify a slave master mentality”? What the hell are you talking about Frederick Dumbass? I guess I missed there part where LeBron had to change his name to “Toby” while being whipped with Kobe “Tim” Bryant’s shoelaces. I missed that part of history class where house slaves could go back up the river to cash in on millions of dollars as they got slave owners to abase themselves before free agent slaves seeking to make millions of dollars.
Jesse… you’re an embarrassment to yourself, to all Americans everywhere and to Black people in particular.

If anyone was the slave in this relationship, it was Gilbert. Cleveland gave LeBron’s multitudinous entourage spots on the summer league team, office positions, team positions and allowed them to travel on the team plane. They hired a personal masseuse for LeBron, fired and hired coaches an GMs at his whim and made suicidal trades and free agent moves throughout the last three years to satisfy his expectations of a championship. He paid them back by spurning them in a nationwide television special.
This is what the traditional race-bait industry have wrought – we’re now decrying slave millionaires.
I wonder how JJ feels about his son putting himself on the auction block for Massa Rod Blagojevich when Blago tried to sell that Senate seat.
