The Arizona Diamondbacks played at the New York Mets’ Citi Field last night. In addition to a couple dozen people protesting Arizona’s immigration enforcement law, leaflets were handed out urging Major League Baseball to move next year’s All-Star Game out of Phoenix.
New York being what it is, I wouldn’t be surprised if the protesters got a lot of support.
Then they had to go and pull this:
The first thing is, you don’t interrupt a New Yorker’s baseball game.
But really, you had to wave the Mexican flag to make your point? The only way opponents of Arizona’s law will make any traction with the majority of Americans who support it is to play up the possibility that it will discriminate against people who are here legally.
By flying the Mexican flag, you’re showing what your real concern is: that Mexicans might have a harder time sneaking into this country.
A note to La Raza, the Mexican government, and Absolut vodka: You’re never getting that land back. And incessantly whining about that, and waving that third-world country’s flag on American soil every time you’ve got a gripe won’t do anything but solidify public opinion against you.

Burn the rag.
I know it doesn’t quite fit, since it’s about Puerto Rico, but when I saw the picture of that jerk, I thought of the song America from West Side Story, specifically this portion:
BERNARDO
Everywhere grime in America
Organized crime in America
Terrible time in America
ANITA
You forget I’m in America
BERNARDO
I think I’ll go back to San Juan
ANITA
I know a boat you can get on
BERNARDO
Everyone there will give big cheer!
ANITA
Everyone there will have moved here
Damn shame we didn’t annex the rest of Northern Mexico:would be a nice prosperous place now.
A true free market republic in Mexico would quickly make it the second richest country in the world… maybe richer than us with all that great coastline to exploit.
I’d like to see someone run onto the field during an NFL game. Not saying baseball players aren’t up to the task but it might be fun to see the Cardinals defense tackle this guy.
Actually, where’s Rick Monday, who I’d like to think WOULD burn that flag, when you need him?
I’d forgotten about that. That was great!
Cricket guy does it too… go to about 1:00
Surely, Mike, you meant Los Mets, right?
Metsicans!
Well,to be fair, there is something to be said for pulling the game out of Phoenix: the players won’t have to be worried about being kidnapped or machine gunned by Mexican drug cartels, the ones that Obama is letting take over the state.
I think Arizonians would have something to say about that…to be fair.
I fully endorse pressuring MLB to pull the All-Star game from Phoenix – there aren’t nearly enough politically determined decisions in this country! In fact, I know of NO city that is sufficiently correct to host the All-Star game (pick your sport), SuperBowl or any other sporting activity. Besides, all those lights for night games? Horrible for Global Warming … same thing with movie production and exhibition – our carbon footprint must be reduced! Television – same problem. Books, newspapers and magazines all contribute to deforestation and must end! Computers and the internet encourage electricity consumption, as well and should thus be halted! C’mon, folks, we have Holocaust-scaled world-wide destruction to avert.
Nice try, RES. I’m not losing my focus on that asteroid a’comin’!
Oh do it at a Packer game…….tackled by AJ Hawk, who stands up with a rather large idiot wrapped in an ugly outter shell splattered on his chest.
This incessent whining and constant carping will only further piss teh majority of Americans off. But these asshats are too dumb to know it…which is fine.
The latest news on the immigration battle front: Las Vegas Metro PD and ICE have been doing a major sting in Vegas for the last few days. They’ve been hitting the tour bus companies who bring Mexican touristas to Vegas, presumably for a few days of play and etc. So far they have been going into the loaded buses upon arrival and checking the passengers for “papers” and have netted a few dozen “illegals!” Props to LV Metro and ICE for doing their jobs well! Oh yes, the illegals who were netted thus far have already been shipped back to Mexico! So far it seems like we don’t need an AZ style law, so long as the enforcement is kept up according to current laws.
fritz, you think that ICE effort has anything to do with Harry Reid’s tepid re-elect numbers?
Could be, but LV Metro has always stayed on top of the illegal situation here, even though ICE may not have.
