This is going to get a little out there, but stay with me through ’til the end:
O.K., today was the worst number loss in the Dow’s history (not percentage, but numeric decrease). Why? The House couldn’t get the requisite majority on the bail out. Now, imagine John McCain heads to the House and has a powwow with the Republican hold-outs. The hold-outs can save face in their re-elections by claiming that they had to concede to keep the Market from tanking further and McCain can come off as the man in the white hat who succeeded where Pelosi failed. And nobody’s even thinking of asking Obama for any help. And Bush has been in bed with the Dems on the bail-out since day one, but that’ has had no impact on the Republicans in Congress.
Once again McCain is the hero who can reach across the aisle and get consensus on difficult issues when nobody else can.

At about 9 AM PST the Market was up 300 points.
I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling a bit queasy.
And it looks like Rogue made an appearance – for real. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,430439,00.html
