P.J. O’Rourke doesn’t like the New York Times.
Editorialized the Times: “It is legitimate to hold Republicans and particularly their most virulent supporters in the media responsible for the gale of anger that has produced the vast majority of these threats.” Interesting how a few small changes would make that sentence appall the Times as much as the Times appalls me: “It is legitimate to hold Muslims and particularly their most virulent supporters in the media responsible for the gale of anger that has produced 9/11.”
Dammit, that above’s probably too big to fit on a bumper sticker, huh?
I sent this to the Standard as a comment: I’ve noticed fewer of the glaring “anonymously-sourced” stories dotting the cover since Obama has taken over. I guess the Times’ anxiety in regard to “getting its reputation back” after the Judith Miller fiasco stopped once a certain Republican president left office. During Bush’s last year, there would be as many as four or five on the front page alone. Not the case anymore.
Nice. How’s that song by Onyx go?
Oh no, high school flashbacks …
B-B-B-B-But wait, it gets worse.
Where are the honest journalists … who cares who they voted for in the last election?
