Meet the new boss, same as the old old boss, since 1966. Mr. Bowden, be thankful they don’t revoke the wins from your — cough, cough — Howard coaching days.
Of course, if JoePa meets the Grim Reaper in the next two years, I will fully take the schadenfreude-laced heat.
For those wondering if the sports media is more biased than the national news media, take in point Bobby Bowden. Jim Tressel, who isn’t the most press-friendly coach in football, was nearly ran out of Columbus over a demonstratively false accusation by Tom Friend of ESPN and Maurice Clarett. Bowden, who is known to let reporters chat with him in the locker room while taking a shower, has been given a free pass for the most of his transgressions.
Not that I think Bobby Bowden is some evil wretch. He’s a good coach competing in high-pressure circumstances who’s road a hard line from time to time, even flat-out ignoring it at others. But hey, that’s Southern football for ya’.
College athletes cheat?!? What the duce! Next thing you’re going to tell me is that we elected a machine politician with no experience to the office of the President of the United States during a time of war.
Naw. Couldn’t happen, Outlaw. People are too intelligent to fall for something like that.
