Zen and the Art of Missile Defense

devo-live-in-the-land-of-the-rising-sun-dvd-md

DEVO Japan is threatening to shoot down North Korea’s missile — should Kim Jong Nutbag be able to get it that far.

Japan today threatened to shoot down a satellite that North Korea plans to launch early next month if it shows any signs of striking its territory.

Tokyo’s warning that it would deploy its multibillion-dollar missile defence system raised tensions in the region after North Korea said that it had identified a potential “danger area” near Japanese territory along the rocket’s flight path.

The regime told the International Maritime Organisation that the missile would be launched during daylight between 4 and 8 April, and that its boosters would fall into the Sea of Japan – about 75 miles (120km) from Japan’s north-west coast – and the Pacific Ocean.

Officials in Tokyo said they reserved the right to destroy any threatening object in mid-flight, despite North Korean warnings that it would consider such a move an act of war.

“Under our law, we can intercept any object if it is falling towards Japan, including any attacks on Japan, for our security,” Takeo Kawamura, the chief cabinet secretary, told reporters.

  • I think the North Koreans need to take a look at this…then tell us how you feel about attacking Japan. Frel the rath of Godzria!

Seriously, the Japanese and Koreans don’t care too much for each other in the first place…it wouldn’t take much to get ‘em started.

Maybe the satellite can strike Roland Emmerich’s house for that dreadful 1998 remake.

I just wanna slap the reporter who asked the question!! Maybe it was Andlea Mitchur.

  • Does anybody really believe the North Koreans are just trying to develop peaceful, satellite launch capability?

  • Stephanie

No. No Skip they aren’t. What is troubling is that they have their dander up, China is feeling all oogy and Iran is mooning us because Obama is looked at as a weasle and a wimp. How awesome is that. The moment W got on the helicopter the rats came out of the gutter and the roaches out of the sewer. Thats what this is all about. Can you guys imagine these people trying this crap and being so brazen with lets say Fred Thompson as US President? Or Rick Perry? (I saw him on Cavuto last night. GROWR. Yes Texans your Governor is a hottie)

  • I’d, personally, like to have another governor from Texas, as president. Just for the wonderful middle finger factor.

  • texacalirose

Chuck Norris is running for president of Texas. Yeehaw!!!

  • Stephanie

Yeah Norris also said some stuff he should not have. Not exactly a happy camper with this sessionist crap. Hows about going after DC and changing the way they do things instead of this bs taking our toys and going home?
He needs to shut his mouth about this stuff because it makes him and the rest of us look like whackos. Good god who is doing his PR?

  • >>Good God who is doing his PR?>>

    Todd and Sarah Palin. ;-)

I think what I am getting at is this: If we do not hang together we will surely HANG seperately. Norris needs to be reminded of that.

Russian analyst predicts decline and breakup of U.S.

“He predicted that the U.S. will break up into six parts – the Pacific coast, with its growing Chinese population; the South, with its Hispanics; Texas, where independence movements are on the rise; the Atlantic coast, with its distinct and separate mentality; five of the poorer central states with their large Native American populations; and the northern states, where the influence from Canada is strong.

What U.S. state has any strong influence with Canada? New York? Montana? Michigan? “with their large Native American populations?” Has this analyst ever been to the U.S.?

If I recall, the last time a state seceded, 600,000 Americans died and entire cities were burned to the ground.

    • I think I heard about that…I’m still trying to convince my 12 yo that it wasn’t ENTIRELY the South’s fault. Damn Yankees wrote all the history books.

I’m not for secession, though I do think the entire world would be better if run by Texas and Texans. Chuck Norris really said that?? I thought that was one of those Chuck Norris jokes, like Chuck Norris dosen’t read, he stares down a book until he gets the information he needs.

  • Stephanie

Texans by in large do run Texas.
