Tea Partying in Cincinnati

Instapundit has a great round up on the Cincinnati Tea Party today, complete with tons of photos. According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, “thousands” were on hand for the event. The vaunted MSM was in action as well.

Hey Glenn, was at the Cincinnati tea party this afternoon and got quite a few shots, a great turn out and some great posters were displayed at this event. They predicted between 4-6,000 people showed up, the square was packed.

However, one thing I wanted to mention was the Counter Protester, of which there was one that I saw. This woman was just wandering around waving a flag and yelling “OBAMA!” and “YES WE WILL”. There was some media there, but one camera man was ONLY covering her and interviewing her. You know, because she was so brave to stand up to these evil conservative protesters!

That’s change you can believe in!

There was more media fun – here are more comments sent to Reynolds …

One of the local TV stations–WCPO– did a hatchet job on the Tea Party. The nerd said he had to leave the rally because a few people insulted him and spit at him due to media bias. The spitting, if it occurred, is of course out of bounds, but not unheard of in the Bush years, when the lefties had the saliva going. The station did a 30 second scan of the Square and then did its own internal Fairness Doctrine by highlighting the few Obama supporter signs and doing an interview with the local Dem Party chief. WCPO is a part of the soon to be Ch11 Scripps newspaper/TV empire. The WCPO website highlights the forthcoming second stimulus package and what people can get from it. Thanks for the coverage.

The tea party phenomenon has gone unnoticed by the national media, but it’s picking up steam locally, which I think is fortuitous. The national media can’t spin this as a bunch of neo-nazi rallies if they aren’t paying attention. But with local eyes focused, you can be local reps, both state and national, are paying close attention.

I wonder how the coverage would be if these were professional ANSWER protesters hurling molotovs at a WTO meeting.

I am going to one tomorrow here in Tampa. Armey is going to be there I believe. Party with the old man and carry my new Navy Ensign (Don’t Tred on Me!). It oughta be a lot of fun!

The GOP demonstration last year about drilling went completely unreported by the MSM. I remember rushing home the first night all excited to see the coverage. Huh? Nothing! What? How could this be? I was completely surprised. I had never seen such blatant biased – a complete and utter conspiracy to cover up what was happening! That was the day the MSM was dead to me.

  • O/T: I see that Ron Silver died at 62 after a two year battle with throat cancer. He is described as doing “a political about-face from loyal Democrat to Republican activist after the Sept. 11 attacks.” Probably won’t get much coverage as a result.
