I’d like to take this time to thank the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for living a life most certainly worthy of a day of recognition. His message, so deviously twisted by many in the Democrat party, a party whose policies the Republican Dr. King eloquently and actively opposed, fortunately reached the likes of Rev. C.L. Bryant. As mentioned on the final Radio Free Threedonia, I highly encourage everyone to see his documentary film Runaway Slave. Don’t rely on my recommendation, though, not when you can listen to C.L. himself below the fold.

It looks as if the movie has already premiered, in Hollywood.
Uh-huh, I was there (though technically Westwood). It can show in a theater near you, too. If’n yer so inclined, round up some local interest and make it so.
I’ve already sent an email to someone who might make it happen.
Dig. I think everyone ’round here (and, yes, you, too, BarryO) will enjoy the movie. Not sure what you mean in comparison to Expelled, though. Rolling it out in select theaters based on demand seems the way they’re going. I’ll see what I can dig out of my contacts with the production. Now if only a certain online show hadn’t been retired …
Naw, go see Red Tails if you want to really make a difference for African-American movie distribution. It shows the heroes of World War II (our country’s “Greatest Generation,” and its success can change the thinking in movie distribution far greater than an independent film will ever do (I’m thinking of “The Undefeated” Sarah Palin movie that was “released”).
Poor BarryO: on the plantation, what else can a brutha do? Free your mind, and the rest will follow.
As for Red Tails, I liked it better the first time, when HBO called it The Tuskeegee Airmen. Much better cast, too.
From a friend of a friend’s FB page:
God forbid, right, mi amigo? Not asking people to change how movies get distributed, by the way, just to give this one the courtesy of a little under two hours to watch (and learn).
OH yeah. George Lucas is so poor, a real struggling artist that one. If this film actually qualifies as “independent” than the term no longer has any meaning.
If you want to see a GOOD film about the Tuskegee Airmen, I would suggest the 1995 film with Lawrence Fishburne as suggested by Eric or the excellent documentary from 2007 Red Tail Reborn.
If you want to see a trumped up piece of trash by a douchebag, see Red Tails.
Is it of the same nature as “Expelled,” with Ben Stein?
Democrats are a turd in the punchbowl of life! If anyone complains about the death of the American Dream, it’s because the Dems killed it. They strangle to death everything good in America, and are responsible for the death of Dr. King’s dream for the blacks in America as well. Kudos if this movie tells the truth and changes some minds for the better as a result!
Amen and please spread the word as much as you can, -fritz-, especially in your neck of the woods, where I imagine it would be well received.
As I mentioned on this past weekend’s RF3D, while I wish the right would make fewer documentaries, I like the pseudo-narrative of Rev. Bryant’s journeys literal and figurative.
Eric, surprisingly enough, Mrs.-fritz- has had quite a few black folks coming into her restaurant lately, that have nothing good to say about Obama or any of the left and their way of doing things.
On a side note, there has been a commercial playing on Vegas’ TV the last couple of weeks that states that the Culinary Union here has been putting out the word that certain hotels should not get conventions and shows, thus attempting to stifle those hotels’ business. The lady doing the talking is stating that the Culinary Union is dead wrong and is hurting jobs in Vegas as a result of “their” whisper campaign against the hotels. I’ve had experience with the Culinary here since 1987 when I first saw some of their “handywork” working as a security supervisor and seeing some of their extortionary tactics. Before the old Marina Hotel was bought and the new MGM Grand was built, I had the pleasure of throwing the union perps(Picketers) off the property on more than one occasion, since the Marina Hotel actually owned the sidewalks around the front and corner of the street. It was therefore not a public sidewalk as per legal definiton, so we had the right to make them leave. They extorted votes from the non English speaking Hispanics and other minorities by making them believe that they would lose their jobs if they didn’t vote to go union. Nevada is a right to work state, so there was no truth to the spiel. The union is still doing the same today and has forced themselves into nearly every hotel in town.
The class warfare rhetoric of our President is so very, very sad.
Only thing sadder is that so many buy into it.
Not only “sad” but downright destructive. Dr. King would have been appalled to see how his “dream” is being so distorted.
Great Ramirez cartoon, as usual.
I have some black people I know through facebook (I wouldn’t call them “friends”) who were in a few of the same classes I took during my university days. They tend to get pretty riled up when I point out simple facts like MLK was Republican and conservative, the KKK was basically a democrat run organization, the Republicans generally voted with the desires of MLK while the democrats tried their hardest to stop them and other such things.
Their response is normally just, “don’t be such a racists!”
Yeah, ok.
